Attempt to deceive
The problem with some Galimard fragrances are not the fragances but the pypramide or the listed ingredients.
Also in this case of "Galimard Star". These listed ingredients are seemingly an attempt to deceive.
How can I dare claiming this? First of all I already tested a lot of parfumes and may see me as a little bit experienced. But furthermore I know some natural scents of flowers, herbs, fruits, wood etc.
To begin with Edelweiß. This peculiar flower has a genuine heavy and lush breathteaking sweet scent. But only until 5 cm distant from its blossom. So to say Edelweiß has a very short distance sillage.
In "Galimard Star" I did not detect any Edelweiß-flower-scent. So it might be ment the scent of the roots. Lotus and cotton flower? But describing how all the listed ingredients could smell or not is superfluous.
So, what am I perceiving with "Galimard Star" ?
The beginnig is strange green and tangy, woody and not sweet. Followed by an aquatic note and a synthetically but interesting flower-mixture. There is a faint touch of citrus to, and maybe some fruits like mango or avocado could be the reason for a creamy fruity note.
Cashmere? I am guessing a kind of special santal-wood-smell. But in the base notes santal is also mentioned.
And indeed, a santal, musc and vanilla mixture is appearing after 20 minutes. Basically "Galimard Star" is an intriguing fragrance, creamy-green, gourmand and definitely unique.
The longevitiy is moderate, the sillage is decent. I see "Galimard Star" as a feminine perfume.

Nice is not always the little sister of sh...
The perfume house Galimard usually doesn't fare well in perfume forums. Although the tradition of the company based in Grasse dates back to 1747 according to its website, Galimard has not produced a true classic (unlike its neighbor Molinard with its Habanita). Galimard's fragrance collection largely lacks individuality and distinctiveness. The scents are rather weak in craftsmanship and are not at all "niche"; they tend to pander to mass taste and are often merely (to put it kindly) "reinterpretations" of popular classics.

All of this is true, and there's no way to sugarcoat it (you can guess which fragrance Galimard's women's scent "Galimar" might resemble!). But despite all that, I like some of the Galimard fragrances, especially the one presented here, Galimard Star, which has saved me through many a dreary November day this gray spring.

Galimard Star begins with a full load of fruits that, fortunately, do not come across as artificial or too sweet to me. Identifying the exact fruit notes is usually difficult without referring to the pyramid's notes - are those oranges, mixed red berries with citrus notes, or perhaps cooked raspberries? It doesn't matter; the most important thing for me is that no unpleasant associations with cheap air fresheners or overly aromatic fruit syrups arise, and this expectation is fulfilled by Galimard Star. The top note is zesty-fruity without being cardboard-like, clearly red to orange, and immediately conveys cheerfulness and good spirits.

The heart note is said to smell of cotton and lotus according to the pyramid. Both are fragrance notes that are not stored in my scent experience treasure. Is it because of that, or is the fragrance really constructed this way - I don't know, but I perceive it such that Galimard Star transitions almost immediately from the zesty-fruity top note into the base. I can't identify any possible suspects as cotton or lotus, but I do detect plenty of vanilla, sandalwood, a bit of musk, and also patchouli. However, here too, the fragrance does not become too sweet, but finds a very pleasant balance of vanilla and woody-spicy notes.

The longevity is quite decent for a Galimard fragrance and for a scent in this price segment (Galimard is roughly at drugstore price level), with a medium to decent sillage.

Whether the Galimard Star released in 2009 has a "model" from the mainstream sector, I don't know; if it does, I'm not familiar with that model. In any case, Galimard Star - unlike many other Galimard fragrances - smells quite distinctive. For me, it's not an essential companion, but a very nice feel-good fragrance, especially on gray days.

Raspberry Jam
Specifically 'Samt' by Schwartauextra. I just made a direct comparison, squatting in front of the cold refrigerator.

Well, my sample here smells warmer, which could be because the scent doesn't come from the fridge, or perhaps due to the included cotton, which, as Grandma already knew, keeps you much warmer than velvet and silk.
When I sniff this fleeting fruity scent, I can almost hear her calling out behind me: Are you wearing an undershirt and tights???

However, 'Star' is still far from being an old lady scent; on the contrary, it’s a beautifully intertwined composition, fruity, creamy, and definitely not too sweet; vanilla doesn’t push itself forward, it prefers to cuddle and snuggle in the background with the sandalwood on the wood.

Delicious little drops! Feel hugged, Anto! ;)

Edit Sept.12:
The only perfume with a truly fine, velvety, powdery, unchewed chewing gum note.

Orange Marmalade
At first, the scent is very fresh and orangey. Then it becomes creamier and you can clearly smell the vanilla. In this phase, the fragrance is very sweet.
But it doesn't stay that way. The orange takes a backseat and the scent becomes increasingly spicy and woody.
I find that the fragrance undergoes an interesting development. However, I particularly enjoy the beautiful, juicy orange note at the beginning, which unfortunately only lasts a short time.

Starts green-sharp-woody-unsweet. Synthetic-aquatic. Strong sillage + nice floral mix. Interesting accord blends in. Without stinky edelweiss.
