Sweetheart
I got this in a box set with a bottle of the original “Ghost” because it was cheaper to buy that way, and I figured why not give Sweetheart a try also.
It’s an interesting one for sure. Initially very masculine-leaning, which I actually don’t mind. Something about it reminds me of Sauvage and Dior Homme. There are hints of lemon and peppermint, some nutmeg, lots of bergamot. As it settles the caramel becomes more prominent, although it’s very sweet and synthetic. It’s rescued to some extent by the heliotrope, which adds a floral edge that helps to marry the two. The base is musky, bringing us back to more familiar territory.
I guess this could be a good fragrance for summer as it’s quite fresh, although it does become a lot warmer and sweeter with wear. Tbh I find the scent profile puzzling; it doesn’t seem to know quite what it wants to be. Between the name and peachy bottle, I was expecting something very feminine (maybe along the lines of I Want Choo), but I’m almost tempted to call this a unisex. I’ll definitely need more time with this one in order to form a solid opinion; it’s a bit of an oddball!
Update 13/10/25 - revisiting again today, and I still find this one puzzling. A masculine-leaning base with synthetically sweet, caramel overtones. A bit of an artificial mess that I’ll be declutterring from my collection.
