A fragrance that never offends and does what it is supposed to do very well!
Hello everyone,

today at this late hour I would like to talk about a special fragrance, the Acqua di Gioia Eau de Toilette.

Why special?

It's really special - like a wolf in sheep's clothing, well maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, BUT... You are looking for a fragrance for spring to summer/ midsummer (+ possibly September), it should be very good/suitable for work, not offend, bring positive comments, something that men like, a little fresh and nothing flowery - sweet, a (possibly) signature and it should also be reasonably inexpensive and not seem too cheap?

That's sooo many requirements! Ultimately, I think it's extremely difficult to find a fragrance that can do all that and not just halfway, but really well.

Then take the Acqua di Gioia Eau de Toilette !

I have been a great friend of Acqua di Gioia Eau de Parfum for many, many years, but I came across a sample of Acqua di Gioia Eau de Toilette during a purchase here in the Souk. And I'll be honest, I know a few flankers of Acqua di Gioia Eau de Parfum and they're not really that good!

But the Acqua di Gioia Eau de Toilette is different, it is carefree, light, gentle, easy to understand and to love and it is this one that really ALWAYS works.

YES in terms of performance (H/S) it is certainly not the best!

But does it have to?

It is a fresh, citrusy fragrance to refresh yourself and it does that to perfection - in my opinion. It somehow subtly reminds me of earlier light Italian colognes and since it does exactly that - thumbs up!
Finally, I would like to say something about the price, if you can find it (few stores still offer it), then you get a really appealing fragrance for relatively little money. If you think for yourself: "Well, I don't necessarily need such a beast from Xerjoff (for example) for midsummer + as an all-time favorite...."
(I don't either, it's too expensive for me!)

Then I say to YOU, test it out and it could very well be that the Acqua di Gioia Eau de Toilette appeals to you very much.

Too few (unfortunately) see its true potential!

If I really wasn't convinced, I wouldn't recommend it to you!

And now have a nice day/evening, or whatever you read this review, LG the Benny

A good summer scent
This is one of the nice summer scents, that work great on a hot day. It has the right amount of citric notes and flowers combined. That makes it less sour and therefore more likeable to a broader audience. The primofiore lemon is very short-lived and the scent soon becomes a lovely mix of pear, black currant and peony. In the end, which comes after a few hours on my skin, cedar wood remains.
However, I will at any time pick Ô de Lancôme on a hot day. I personally do not need the flowers - I simply love the citrus fruits of any kind and I like the lift they give to my mood.

Softly acquatic
I've had this in my collection for several years and always use it when I want something really fresh, clean and uncomplicated in summer. Preferably on really hot days, when only a floral aquatic will do.
I always liked Acqua di Gioia EDP on paper, but on my skin the sugar and mint develope in a weird, rank way in the heat. The EDT is much more wearable for me. I don't find them that similar, I can barely smell the EDP's brown sugar signature here.

This starts with very fresh lemon, ozonic violet leaf and watery pear. Peony joins soon and stays til the end.
Slowly, the fragrance becomes more floral, peony gets clean, creamy jasmine as a partner.
Cashmere wood and a light muskiness strenghten the creaminess of jasmine towards the base, while there are still wafts of citrusy and floral freshness.
I really like how jasmin and the muskier base notes come together here, it's not super innovative, but very well done. Sometimes I forget how much I enjoy it when I don't wear it, because sounds so unassuming, and then I'm surprised again.

The lasting power is quite good for a summery EDT, as the basenotes aren't as weak as in many other scents. It doesn't fall apart, it stays nice for many hours until it fades away.

When I had this new I didn't find the light green, frosted bottle fitting for the fragrance (maybe because I usually associate peony with the color pink?), but now I totally do. It's such a soft, tranquil experience to wear this. Kind of a freshwater mermaid scent.

A sensual rose garden
With my last orders I happened to have a small sample of Acqua di Gioia with me, actually declared as a women's perfume, but I was curious. A man uses women's perfume? Yes, that's right. "Giovanni Trapattoni in his prime would say. I'm just curious, and beginners try lots of scents. I have nothing to do anyway because of the current health situation in Germany
I wore the fragrance mainly in the evenings at home. But how do I describe the scent now? Do men have different noses? Anyway...the scent opens with a wonderful freshness. You can clearly smell the lemon and the pear. But within the first hour you realize more and more where you are, namely with your nose in a bouquet of roses. Nowadays you can also recognize more and more often a rose in men's perfumes. For many, this is probably hate or love, and I am also sure that roses do not suit all men. I personally wouldn't leave the house with it, because just because I try the fragrance, it doesn't make it more masculine.

In the further course of time, the scent remains linear with the above mentioned peony and very distinct. With a little sensitivity one can guess the cedar wood note, the brown sugar makes the rose a bit sweeter but without being obtrusive. The shelf life is not more than average for an eau de toilette, even if the scent can be sniffed on clothes for a long time
Would I want to smell the perfume on a lady? Yes, by all means! Who wouldn't want to snuggle up to fragrant flowers as a man, especially in spring and summer?! It's nothing spectacular what Armani has thrown on the market, but it's solid, fresh and flowery and definitely wearable from a feminine side.
