Freshness before Wood: Could Have Worked

Man, always these series, lines, flankers, clones. Just like with the recently written Boss and its Bottled series, it gets on my nerves. Luckily, I usually manage to tune it out.

I like the note pyramid itself; you’re not overwhelmed by too much variety and it looks coordinated, or rather, at least not inappropriate. Unfortunately, it is. The first hour (or longer?) is dominated by lemon. Along with some mint and lavender, and in the background, old ginger (it seems almost impossible to retain the scent of fresh?). Almost from the very beginning, the wood is there, slightly bitter, dark, but not precisely identifiable. The remaining notes don’t take long to appear; after a maximum of 10 minutes, the geranium is also noticeable, but it never comes to the forefront as the fragrance develops.

Primarily, Code Ice is lemon and old ginger before wood. (The mint cools slightly and the flowers contribute little; the geranium is even somewhat inappropriate, simply too floral-sweet for the scent.) Additionally, it is a office fragrance, so the sillage is rather close to the body, with a longevity from brushing your teeth to lunchtime.
