Most refined flanker
My Way Parfum by Armani is the best flanker to date of the famous My Way line. Even if iris is not my favorite note ( I like it but don’t always love it) this flanker is my favorite and this says it all. It’s refined and has a nice evolution. It does not smell like a tuberose candy. The opening made me think of another popular perfume flanker by Lancôme. Woody and powdery
A completely different interpretation of Armani's 'My Way'. The scent opens fresh as usual with a lot of tuberose. But almost immediately the tuberose is tempered by the iris. It's an old dusty iris. This certainly does not make the smell dusty. It makes woody. This brings the tuberose more into balance. You will definitely keep smelling the sweetness of the tuberose. But the tuberose is sprinkled with the iris.
If I hadn't known this was 'My Way perfume' I would have thought that Armani had released a male flanker of 'My Way'.
Where I find the tuberose in the regular 'My Way' cheap and loud and the Intense too intense, the tuberose in the 'Parfum' is perfect.
Am really surprised.

It's always sad when a good perfume just doesn't work on you, isn't it?
I'm not a big fan of the original My Way. It's fine, but the florals in it are too sugary to my nose, the scent as a whole feels a bit unimaginative. Just not my thing. But this flanker got my attention. The dark blue ombré of the bottle is beautiful, Parfum/Intense versions of mainstream scents are often more to my taste than the pillars, and my first impression on a blotter in store was very positive.

I really love the effect iris has in this. It cools down the sweet white flowers of the My Way DNA, so it feels smoother and not as high-pitched. Tuberose and orange blossom are very prominent, just like they are in the original, but they don't completely dominate the scenf anymore. I get unlisted fruit notes in both fragrances, which I also enjoy more in Le Parfum. They feel kind of tropical here, which is a nice contrast to the waxy, lipstick-like iris.
The base consists mainly of a warm vanilla that anchors the scent very well, just as it should.

Sounds great, right?
Unfortunately it doesn't smell as good on the skin as it does on paper. At least not on mine. I get an oppressive dustiness here that ruins the fragrance, especially when it was warmer. And this is the kind of floral that I would preferably wear in spring, so it doesn't work out for me at all. Such a shame. Adding iris to My Way was such a great idea. If this smelled on me just like it does on the blotter, I would love it.

My Way, refined.
I quite enjoy the My Way line, but tend to admire it from afar. No version I’ve had really wears on me in a way that I enjoy—until now. This is the My Way I’ve been waiting for and I had no idea.

Starts out with a blast of a rounded, sweet orange lightened by bergamot and orange blossom, similar to the opening of Intense but not as strong. That quickly burns away to reveal a beautiful, lipstick-y iris that complements the My Way DNA perfectly. At the same the jasmine begins to sing and continues to do so until the end. After the iris fades your left with a sweet, musky jasmine that I find less sweet than the original. Lastly, the final hours of this perfume is a musky, woody, vanilla with a touch of that sweet jasmine lingering around.

This wears as a more elegant and refined version of the line. The florals are smoothed out, the sweetness is dialed back a bit, and the addition of iris makes it truly unique to the rest of the line-up. This wears a bit more intimately than the others, which I quite enjoy—I find the projection of the original and the Intense to be a bit overwhelming. I find this most similar to the Intense version.

If you enjoy My Way this is worth your time checking out.

Then I'll make a start...
I am a packaging victim, you probably know that. Therefore, I was already very taken with the beautiful bottle with its lovely deep blue - pink gradient before the release. I already like the original bottle, but this one takes it up a notch.

Basically, I don't find the original My Way really bad. It has a nice freshness but also a strong sweet gum scent due to the tuberose - which occasionally causes me nausea. It's a shame, really. I liked the Intense a bit better, as it is creamier and more vanilla-like, but I ended up parting ways with it again; it is nice, but somehow it wasn't enough.

I just managed to hold off on a blind buy, as I wanted to buy more consciously and test it longer beforehand. A sample was already ordered, but unfortunately it hasn't arrived yet.
However, the other day, when I happened to pass by a perfumery, I got the chance to at least spray a sample beforehand.

Right away, a large dose of powdery iris greets you. You have to like that; I do.
Shortly after, the My Way DNA comes through. However, it is definitely toned down, less sweet, softer, and creamier than in the Intense. The bubblegum - tuberose punch is noticeably restrained, yet still slightly present. You don't necessarily smell the vanilla right away, but it nicely rounds off the scent. In the dry down, the gentle original DNA remains. Iris is continuously perceptible and pushes back the sweetness so that it doesn't become overwhelming. I really like it.

One spray on the wrist and the jacket sleeve had enough power to scent me properly at first. At first, it seems almost intense, but quickly becomes tamer. On the skin, it was only perceptible up close after about 6 hours. Until then, I was always surrounded by a lovely soft scent cloud.
At home, I hung my jacket in the closet.
When I walked through the hallway at night and wasn't even thinking about the scent anymore, I suddenly wondered where this lovely floral scent cloud was coming from. It took a while before I realized that the scent was coming from the closet. And it lasted for days. This was enough to hypnotize me into jumping on the next great offer (which just happened to come up on 14.2.). I didn't want to give in so quickly again... I wanted to test it longer... well, whatever.

I could imagine that it could be a scent for any season and time of day. However, I first need to see how it performs in summer or if it might be too overwhelming then.

I've heard multiple times that the scent has absolutely nothing to do with the original, which surprises me and I cannot agree with at all. My opinion: those who can't relate to the original at all will not be happy here either. However, if the original is too overwhelming sweet for you and you like iris along with warm, powdery, floral, feminine scents, you might want to pay a visit to the new My Way perfume :)

it's a bit vampy, a bit dense and creamy, sweet but not too sweet the iris makes it a bit more sultry

Surprisingly good and daring for a flanker. Iris is breathtakingly dominant for most of the wear, very elegant and totally unisex.

I had high hopes for this one, but found myself disappointed. No longevity whatsoever. Smells like floral tinged water.

Powdery floral. Reminds me of Libre but a lot juicier and to me more enjoyable. Would wear this to the office but would not buy full-size

A refined, elegant take on the original. Less sweet/bubblegum-y. If you like the Intense version and iris, you’ll probably like this too.

I did it my way...opens with powdery iris and transforms into a warm-sweet spring floral scent. Does it have the makings of a classic?

Jesses Maria! Iris! IRIS!!! So silvery, so powdery, so fine & elegant. Cheeky fruity notes dance around, sparkling like champagne. Applause!
