A lovely fresh and luxurious..... laundry detergent

A lovely fresh and luxurious laundry detergent. Though Si Passione Éclat reminds me of Si Passione, Éclat does not have a cheap soapy quality about it, just a slight detergent vibe. I have noticed that I always describe floral fragrances as soapy or as a cleaning detergent, maybe it's because most of the soaps in my childhood were florals. Have we finally found the reason for my floral hatred?

After dry down, musk is far more prevalent and Éclat gains a more sophisticated profile than Si Passione. It is, however, still a floral, which is composed in such a way that I don't like it or rather wouldn't like to wear it. I see myself liking this on other people, though. There's a slight woodiness and powderiness that I would have loved more of and if citrus was more in the forefront, this might even have been a fragrance I would have added to my collection.

Éclat doesn't have a strong lasting power on me and after an hour or so, I have to sniff my wrist quite closely to add thoughts to my review.

I reapplied the fragrance a couple of times, and I have to say that the opening notes are mesmerising. A definite note of rose that isn't too overpowering, but also a fresh juicy citrus, something fresh, almost aldehydic that soon disappears and I am left, yet again, with a generic fragrance.

What a shame.

Si Passione Éclat is more than just Si Passione rebooted, but the fragrance has much to be desired for it to be memorable and after this review, Si Passione Éclat will be forgotten like many of the other famous fragrances I have reviewed.

Who else can't get along with the Si's..

...should definitely have tested this one!

In order to use the (hopefully not quite so last) summer days to test my "summer splendor" and bottlings before the autumn blows by, the choice today fell quite spontaneously on Sì Passione Éclat and OH how fitting!

After I keep thinking "what smells so good here?" and realize that it's me, I guess I have to write a review after all.

How beautifully sunny it was today - perfect for something light and fresh. something that doesn't shout out loud, but doesn't go undetected either.
All attributes that, in my opinion, could hardly describe Eclat better.
I have tested all the Si's so far and apart from Fiori, I didn't find any of them even "quite nice" (Si Intense black bottle - still my personal horror of the range).
But Eclat, with its uncomplicated, friendly nature, already put me in a summer mood when I tried it last year.

The blackcurrant carries this fragrance together with the roses, which smell very natural and light, and combine to create a certain fruity, slightly sweet aquatic note that does not fade in the K-H-B phases.
What I didn't encounter last year, however, is vanilla.
Today, it envelops me all the more delicately, creeping in from the 2nd hour and gives the fragrance a light romanticism, but also continues to support the fruitiness.
Nevertheless, I would not declare Si Eclat a fruit bomb; if you are looking for that, you will probably find it elsewhere.
I wouldn't describe it as a musk bomb either, I find it slightly accompanying and unobtrusive (I'm very sensitive to musk anyway...).

Finally, I can say that if I didn't avoid musk as a substance in perfumes (a very personal decision), Sì Passione Éclat would be a full bottle buy!

Roses and fruits, but ...?

I recently learned that my mother switched her long time favorite L'Air du Temps Eau de Toilette (sad day indeed) for the Si Passione line. i'm not sure I have the same as her (since the bottles of the Si line all look the same and I also have a mini dabber), but I was certain I'd never want to wear this perfume for two reasons: I don't want to be wearing the same perfume as my mother and we don't like the same perfumes. I just want you all to be aware these two reasons might have tainted my review.

So as soon as I sprayed it on my skin, I felt this weird scent coming through. Not quite flowers and not quite fruity. That's when I realized I have smelled this weird off-putting scent somewhere: it's the white musk. I have noted that musk tends to go either way: it can be a nice comfy one, or a dirty-smelling one. This time it was the latter. It overpowered absolutely everything, leaving almost no place for the fruits or roses. There was also this background waxy synthetic scent that just didn't help the overall vibe. After about 30 minutes the bourbon vanilla starts to come out but it's in all shades of wrong. It adds this earthy, dirty (slightly sweet) layer and... Nah. This one is definitely not for me.

I'd be curious to smell the other Si perfumes just to figure out if this one was the only stick in the mud, but because of this experience, I'm not compelled to go and sniff the others. I think it really smells quite mature (which might be another reason why I didn't like it). In general it's not for me, but others could better appreciate it for sure.
