"Par Amour" - with love
My curiosity is now well known; and since I was very taken by the fragrance "Empire des Sens" (see comment), I wanted to learn more about its background and discovered the beautifully designed website of the brand "La Maison Godet" I found it not only very attractively presented, but also very informative.
The name Godet said nothing to me, but that has also nothing to mean.
Only too short time I drift around off the fragrance mainstream and there is still so much to discover!

"La Maison Godet" was founded in 1901 by Julien-Joseph Godet; for him, creations of beautiful fragrances and craftsmanship went hand in hand.
This is how he met many artists who had been in Paris since the beginning of the 20th century.
What a time that must have been! Every night in a different "salon", in a different bar.
In 1908, he met the painter Pierre Bonnard and dedicated "La Reine de Fleur" to his wife Marthe as a personal fragrance.
In 1920, the first Godet boutique opened on Rue de Rivoli in Paris and Pierre Bonnard introduced Julien-Joseph to the painter Henri Matisse.
"Petite Fleur Bleue" was introduced in 1920 and in 1925 Henriette Darricarrère, Henri Matisse's muse, wore "Folie Bleu" for the first time.
So "Empire des Sens" is no fluke; the Godet name has long had its place in the fragrance world.
Finally, in 2016, Sonia Godet, Julien-Joseph's granddaughter, took over as the fourth generation to lead the company. She also remains true to the corporate philosophy.
Thus, "Par Amour" 2017 already saw under her aegis (again) the light of the fragrance world.
A rose fragrance that told me an enchanting story; of course, the story of a love.

She was finally going to write to her lover; had her nicest stationery, fountain pen and small bottle of her favourite pinkish-purple ink already laid out.
She sat down at her dressing table, where the rich bouquet of fragrant Grasse roses from the garden stood in her favourite vase.
Thus, looking in the mirror, she wanted to write to him; here she was close to her beloved!
She thought of him, longed for him, and suddenly felt as if there were a fine pink veil between her and the mirror.
The garden roses smelled sweetly, and enveloped her tenderly; she saw clearly through this fine veil the sensations that were apparent in her face, in her mirror.
Was she dreaming?
The fountain pen in her hand became an old-fashioned quill; this in turn changed again: she held in her hand a sprig of her beloved Centifolia rose!
The ink became sandalwood oil and smelled sensual.
What happened to her?
She sat in a balsamic fragrance cloud of roses and sandalwood; warm patchouli and vanilla streams and the sweetness of tonka bean enveloped her.
She listened to the delicate sound of these scents and discovered even more resinous nuances: labdanum!
She knew that scent of the rock roses she was so familiar with. How often had she encountered these flowering plants with their always somewhat crumpled leaves and pink blossoms on her walks.
She saw herself in the mirror: sitting down in a pink tent of wonderful fragrances; a little afraid, and yet feeling very, very comfortable!
Suddenly she heard the voice of the man of her heart: so soft, so warm, and very clear!
"Ma Chérie c'est une Rêve: Par Amour!" was his loving message!

"Par Amour" was originally released in 1951; probably did not meet expectations: the fragrance was discontinued.
Under Sonia Godet, it experienced a renaissance.
"Par Amour" is not just a fragrance of roses; it is the fragrance of a woman who is as successful as she is elegant.
A woman who is also willing to test her limits; who cannot always resist temptation.
It is the fragrance of a woman who likes to be seduced, but also just as happy to seduce himself.
Was the chanson "La Vie en Rose" perhaps written for her after all, and not for Édith Piaf?
C'est la Vie! - Life is now sometimes pink!

With the only average longevity of this fragrance - what do you ask of roses?! -, it is a pleasure to re-spray and dive again and again into a new love story.
Rosy, sensual, slightly powdery and as timeless as the name and the associated feeling, is this fragrance creation.
The time of roses is just infinite; the love anyway!
