Ambre Éternel Guerlain 2016

Guerlain nailed in this collection. Les Absolu D'Orient have some great fragrances but to me the ones that stand out and speak to me are the first ones. Santal Royal and Ambre Éternel.

The first one was not something that i liked from the beggining. I thought it was less sandalwood and more about the cinnamon and peach accord. But i grew up to love it.

But this Ambre Éternel was the one that made me bought a bottle. A fantastic scent that plays with the salty-animalic Ambergris, a fruity peach from Mitsouko and the powdery iris, with that middle-east oriental leather underneath it all.

Starts off very sparkling and fruity. The peach accord it's present here with the ambergris. There's this powderiness from Iris that never became strong. Just lingering around. Fantastic smell with an aura of sophistication.

The drydown is woody, ambery and still fruity. Very "fresh" and kinda airy, never strong or cloying which it's a plus for this kind of scent. Don't get me wrong. This is not a fresh scent. It's an woody floral amber that has some saltiness and fruity molecules that turns this into a more "fresh" and versatile scent rather than a typical resinous amber scent made for cold weather.

It can be wore in spring, fall and winter. Has good performance, not nuclear but decent 8+ plus hours with good presence in the first couple of hours.

Unfortunately discontinued, but if you find it for a good price, grab a bottle. It's one of the best Guerlain for the past 10 years.

I just tried this perfume and I fell immediately in love with it! It's the apotheose of sensuality with the amber main note and its oriental-spicy acchord; a round, involving bouquet perfect for women too expecially by night. The amber base isn't medicinal, but sweet and very strong, but made deeper and richer by the leathery notes and more lively by the spicy touch . Smelling this perfect acchord I imagined to be in the harem of an oriental palace. The sillage is strong and you smell this oriental symphony on your skin for many hours. The price of the perfumes of this special collection is very high, but the quality is the top. Another Guerlain's masterpiece!

For people to understand Intensely animalic fragrances like these two, something must be understood,
you have got to wait for at least 2 minutes before even thinking of smelling them if you are testing (assuming of course that you have enough intelligence not to buy them blind).

The animalic note is right in the front of everything you are going to smell, and I think that was a smart move by Thierry Wasser, instead of ending up smelling like chewed up shoe after 8-9 hours, the animalic note is right at the beginning, intense and unapologetic, naturally as time goes by it starts to fades away slowly and in the process covering everything else in a layer of class and sophistication that stays until everything dries down completely.

The fruitiness of Ambre Eternel makes it a bit more feminine than Cuir Intense, both perform admirably, smell divine and would challenge even the most seasoned fragrance collector.

My First impression is sweet and powdery. Then the leather comes in and it becomes dry and soft and masculine. not bad at all actually, really like this one.
Typical night parfum when you are going out and want to hunt some woman’s. Longevity is strong very strong, tha day after my room was still smelling to this great one.

This is unbelievable, unforgettable perfume with its oriental character which will never let you down:)
