Reform backlog
Until now, I never thought that a perfume could have anything to do with politics. This morning, while testing the latest Aqua Allegorias Rosa Rossa, of all things, it became clear to me. In the Aqua Allegoria series, it seems to me, there's a big reform backlog, just like in politics.
I was always an Aqua Allegoria fan. But after Flora Rosa, Rosa Pop, Rosa Fizz and Rosa Rossa I have to say: Okaaaay Monsieur Wasser, I think I have a pretty good picture of what you imagine a rose-berry combo to be...
I think it's time to wake up. To set out for new shores. It's time for a revoluthionn like the Spaniard says So I light a torch, clench my fist in the air and call out to you: Lavender velour! Anisia Bella! Herba Fresca! Winter Delice! These were Aqua Allegorias with profile, which clearly divided the camp into friend and foe! That was inventiveness courageously implemented! That was free fantasy, instead of mainstream dawdling!
Dare to do it again, dear Mr. Water!
And if the fear of falling sales figures paralyses your creativity, keep it up with Emiliano Zapata:
"Better to die upright than live on your knees!"

Allegory of Transitoriness
No question about it. Summer's over for this year. Well, not quite yet. He's just saying goodbye gently, with a sunny, warm post-summer. But the hot days are history. And with it the daily automatic grip to the refreshing citrus scents like Pamplelune or Mandarine Basilic. Now is the time to look around for a new fragrance. Soon I'll know what I want. A rose scent it should be. For most people, this is something you associate with spring. But I think it also goes well with the mild days of late summer, when, as I said, it doesn't necessarily have to be as citrus refreshing. Now you can wear sweeter again. I'm talking about something flowery. But not a bouquet of spring flowers, but the proud queen of flowers.
I even seem to be in keeping with the spirit of the times when it comes to fragrances. Guerlain has been releasing a new rose fragrance every year since 2016 as part of the Aqua Allegoria series. 2018 it is after Rosa Pop, Rosa Fizz and Rosa Flora just Rosa Rossa.
I would have liked to have tested and compared them all. But even in well-stocked perfumeries I found at best a single fragrance from this bouquet of roses. And that was usually the new Rosa Rossa. Pink Flora, I understand, is a limited edition. Rosa Pop - released in 2016 - is considered a variant for teenagers. Rosa Fizz came out in 2017 and has a similar structure to Rosa Rossa: fruity, rosy and finally noble-woody. By adding tangerine, peony, plum and white musk, for example, I imagine this fragrance to be very interesting and romantic. But unfortunately it seems to have disappeared completely from the market. This Aqua Allegoria mutated into an allegory of transience... It can happen so quickly. Also at Guerlain.
Rosa Rossa, the red rose, was love at first sight. That's exactly how I imagined "my" rose scent for this time of year: a velvety, soft rose scent full of noble sweetness, which has nothing kitschy or sticky. I think we all know that you can do so much wrong with roses in perfume. But Master Thierry Wasser, who created all of Guerlain's rose fragrances mentioned above, does not of course do this. He knows how roses should smell today: like a lively cocktail of summer fruits and sparkling champagne, in which fresh rose petals dance.
In this sense, the EdT he created is a very modern interpretation of Rose. It is not a heavy, beguiling fragrance, but light, fruity, dry with powdery sweetness.
At Guerlain, the fragrance is described as "flowery-citrus": sparkling, cheerful, sparkling...
The whole thing actually starts, as so often with Guerlain, with this typical fresh bergamot. Soon the fragrance becomes fruity, but remains light. The black currant says hello. The exotic lychee is also doing well. But it seems that this duo is just preparing the Rose's appearance. It starts in powder form and then develops. For a short moment I have the idea of a lush Damascus rose - no, whole rose fields of Bulgarian Rose. Although the scent remains subtle. It's hardly likely to make "woman" stand out. However, it gives the feeling of elegance and care, even on hot days. I would almost speak of understatement.
Those who like to hear compliments about their Duftaura will remain unrewarded here. The fragrance has almost no silage and the shelf life is low. That surprised me. Because the scents from the Aqua Allegoria series, which I know, all have a significantly better durability and sillage than this, although they are also EdTs.
I confess: I would have wished for this delicious fragrance to be a little more intense and durable. Here I have the impression that I have to re-spray almost every 10 minutes.
As good as I like this fragrance, I won't buy this pink rosé any more, because of its scarcely existing durability and low silage. I expected more from Guerlain.
In the end it is only an EdT for hot summer days, which you spray by the liter because it is so light and smells so weak. Too bad. A little more intensity would have been desirable and would have fulfilled my expectations better.
All in all - an interesting interpretation of a contemporary rose scent, but unfortunately much too weak and hardly durable.
This is how the name Aqua Allegoria proves itself here as well. For this pink rosa also shows itself here as - unfortunately all too clearly - an allegory of transience.

Rosa Rossa is not a pink horse!... oh, what a stupid title!
Rosa Rossa is the second and last new fragrance in Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria series for this year, because as far as I can tell there won't be a new Allegoria fragrance this year. Too bad, because I always like these fragrances, but so you can look forward to possibly new fragrances next year.

As always this fragrance was in the ladies department, which is somehow always brighter illuminated than the men department, just to make you look better probably... :D
But this time I had no problem testing him. Because I talked there with one (of course, how should it be different *sigh*) as always very nice and also pretty saleswoman and let me spray the smell afterwards on my arm.
Hach, I think I was somewhat humorous and hopefully charming (at least I hope so!!!), but my farewell was of course as always very wooden and formal ("okay then, thank you and have a nice weekend!"), which annoyed me again... waaaaah! If I could dare to invite someone to a drink (or ice cream? Hmm, delicious :D) now even more often, ... and this one also accepts the invitation, then summer would finally be perfect and I could look forward more to this season (so to summer, if you should not have checked it :D) *sigh sigh* Oh and of course, I'm sure I would sigh less then here :D ... *seeeeufz* :DD he he

But even with this scent, you could sigh a little. Not because it's bad as a grotto (it's not to calm you down!), but because it's quite banal despite a Guerlain Allegoria, even if it should smell nice in itself...

The fragrance:
The fragrance begins very lightly with fresh notes of lychee and bergamot. Then follows another fruity note with the currants, which, as always, seem a little powdery to me. However, the berries here are also quite light.
Then the roses follow and somehow you get the feeling that this was all, because the scents are so light that they disappear almost shortly after spraying on. Well, that's not really true, but the Sillage could have been much stronger here.
Otherwise the fragrance stays as described before, until the fruity and above all citric scents gradually disappear and then more of a rose scent remains, which, as you can already imagine, is leeeeeeicht out of the question :D
There is something woody about the base, but you can hardly really perceive it.
A nice fragrance, but it hardly has anything great to offer.

The Sillage and the shelf life:
I found the charisma now quite small. Sure, it can happen that the fragrance comes across as nice at the beginning as always when it comes to the fragrance cloud, and I don't want to say that the fragrance would be body-hugging, but the sillage really isn't strong, so you can only smell it at close range, especially since it quickly loses more power and at some point of course also becomes body-hugging.
Also the durability was rather short with me. Already after three hours I could hardly smell anything, because it became extremely close to my body.

The bottle:
The bottle is once again very beautiful, although it would have been a bit simple without the gilded honeycombs as a decorative detail. You can also see a square label with a golden frame on which the name of the fragrance is written in a matching pink colour. The lid is also gold-plated and round. A beautiful bottle as you are used to :)

Rosa Rossa, like most (or all) Aqua Allegorias, has become a beautiful, fresh fragrance that fits perfectly into the summer. The reason why I rate the fragrance a bit lower is because it is a bit too simple for me and therefore also too generally fragrant. It almost looks a bit like a better 0815 fragrance, with which you can't do anything wrong, but you don't have to have it either. In addition, the Sillage and durability is also quite weak.

If you like roses and currants, you might be able to take a look here, because you still get the usual good Guerlain quality and the scent is a nice companion for the day in summer because of its looseness. But in my opinion there are much better and more beautiful Aqua Allegorias

Walking through British Gardens
Whenever I was in Ireland or Great Britain, it was summer and of course pleasantly wet and rainy. In many gardens there were freshly blossomed peonies, lupines and rose bushes to admire, especially in the countryside the air smells really wonderful around this time.
And Rosa Rossa reminds me of exactly these journeys.
The fragrance is rose through and through and creates an almost perfect imitation of freshly blossomed, delicate roses in which you want to dip your nose. The Sillage is, as with most Aquas, rather weak, but the fragrance lasts for an acceptable length of time (about three hours are already in it). So I can still indulge in my small, summery front garden scent cloud in autumn

Il nome della rosa(rossa) -the name of the (red) rose
When I saw this perfume on the drugstore shelf, I immediately thought : it will be the classic, old-style rose I usually don't like! It wasn't so.
The rose note is only a few noticeable, although the scent's name is "rosa rossa"(red rose).I smelled mainly the fuity notes, in particular the bergamot and the blackcurrant, fresh and very gorgeous.
Anyway, in spite of the name, is a very pleasant and feminine scent to wear mainly in spring-summer. The bottle too , as all the ones of this line, is very refined , in perfect Guerlain's style. But the price of this fruity pleasure is maybe too high in comparison with its longevity and sillage.
