Woody Cinnamon Apple
Black Orris is now the 3rd perfume I am testing from HFC and it is the best so far …
Longevity and sillage are, as usual with HFC, above average.
Compared to Or Noir, the scent is less creamy, and compared to Sword Dancer, you don’t have that medicinal beige note … Black Orris smells to me primarily warm, woody-spicy, almost like cinnamon apple but not too sweet! Just right for me and not too fougère-like, such as Noir Extreme by TF. Black Orris envelops you in something so beautifully warm and woody that it is best worn on cold days. However, the lavender, lemon, and rockrose bring in some freshness, so it can actually be worn all year round; only in summer, at over 30 degrees, it will have a hard time … I also think that even though this is a men’s fragrance, it can also be worn by women …
