... pretty fresh this fraîche ;-)
Admittedly, I never thought that this successful citric would once be among my top fragrances. Because about 1.5 years ago I still turned up my nose when I noticed in his drydown (too) clear similarities to his original, which is unfortunately not my case at all. So he stayed left until I sprayed him again somewhere this spring:
And there it was again, this wonderfully authentic freshness explosion of citrus, in the first place probably orange and grapefruit. Wonderfully tangy and also with a slightly bitter impact come along, as if rubbed by peels. So if this is not a summer scent, I do not know it either:)
Then after 20-30 minutes, the rose geranium mixes in. Their soft, slightly floral grace fits very well with the citrus notes. Drum has me times interested in how the rose geranium smells in nature. For this I sought out one of the nearest garden centers, although these usually never see me from the inside (green thumb missing except for a donated desert primrose, which fortunately endures 2-3 months without water with me - that's why we get along so splendidly;)
And now it comes:
The friendly waitress led me to the said rose geranium as I confessed to her already on the way there, this only times smell and not want to buy. But when she learned that I was about a perfume fragrance, she immediately raved off, but also mentioned that the rose geranium is also used "for deterrence". I understood only station until we finally arrived at the plant pots, all of which bore a small tag that said:
* Mosquito repellent *
Haha, I do not actually count myself among the insects, and the Hermes does not smell like it - quite the opposite:) But then I learned that the aroma of rose geranium lies in its green leaves, which is released by rubbing. I then did that, and ... WOW, that's it! Because it also smells partly quite citrusy, super fresh and invigorating.
But back to the fragrance: I do not know what got me back then, but today I can only determine the dominant orange as a commonality with the classic Terre d'Hermès, although it is clearly fresher obstructed in this flanker. I would even suggest that today's Très Fraîche has been improved in that its bright citrus now lasts throughout the course, whereas its base notes have been dimmed down. And that creates the lightness of the scent, and thus the difference from the original. In addition, the delicate florality of rose geranium can be perceived, which manifests itself in a certain softness and, together with a little patch and a pinch of wood, provides a wonderful balance to this concise fresh.
Conclusion: exactly mine! A summer fragrance with character, but I also recommend it for spring and autumn. Its durability is (on clothes) at >8 hours, the sillage is quite strong in the first half hour and then at half arm's length prima perceptible.
