Only two notes in the list of notes... The perfume gets interesting for me in an instant, if I have a slightest chance to experience a note alone, so to speak - naked.

Melon - it means here melonjuice, sweet, a bit foetid. MANGIAMI DOPO TEATRO meant to be a summer fragrance, I am sure. Since I can also detect seawater or a smack of salt. Sweet and salty together is nauseant for me, so I do not like it.

Sillage is rather moderate, longevity: 4-5 hours maximum. It is rather suitable to women or better still girls, youngsters. I do not recommend it for serious situations, nor for night out.

Subliminal Honeydew Canteloupe Musk

This is a delightful fresh summer skin scent for about 30 minutes. It is uber light and I think it is too sweet fruity to work well on an adult man (unless that man owns a fine fragrance boutique). On my skin I detect the juicy cantaloupe strongly for the first 15 minutes and then a lovely base of clean white musk gently arrives followed by a more honeydew type melon with almost a little bit of green tea note, though it is fleeting. This is another soft sillage short lived offering from Hilde Soliani but a gentle transparent taste of Summer at any rate. I would love to say this can be layered with something else, but I am afraid that the delicate scent will become lost with just about anything I can think of other than perhaps Le Labo's Ambrette 9, CdG's Odeur 71, Amazing Grace or Atelier's Vanille Incensee.

A Faithful Melon Scent

Melon is a notoriously difficult note for me, so I have to give Hilde Soliani some credit for reproducing a faithful rendition of this fruit with MANGIAMI DOPO TEATRO. This fresh and juicy melon seems to be a honeydew-cantaloupe hybrid, but it is very natural smelling from start to finish. Unlike some of the melon-centric perfumes I've sniffed, this one does not rot and begin to attract flies or serve as an effective emetic.

Another one-note wonder, this member of the TEATRO series would have perhaps been livened up with a thin slice of prosciutto, but the real question is: how does this melon hang with SIPARIO (curtain)? According to some reviewers, SIPARIO is a piña colada facsimile. According to my nose, SIPARIO includes two distinct stages: tart dextrose candy à la Pixie Stix followed by an abrupt switch to a strong coconut-based suntan lotion scent. But even if I concede the piña colada, I don't see how it is supposed to mesh with the melon.

Oh well.
