House of Matriarch / Bonsai
'Enter the Zen Garden. In this timeless and sacred place, rare natural notes of alligator juniper, black copal, aglaia flower, chrysanthemum and Far East green specimens explode in their fullest expression and brilliance.
By breathing deeply, your heart opens up and the marriage of clear opening all the way to the ancient earthy base. Dryness is magical - to be rooted in the soil of your most primitive pleasure centers of the touch points of incense, moss and spicy earth. '
It was a translation.
The finalist and winner of 'The Art & Olfaction Awards 2020' also won in 2 other ratings as one of the top 5 fragrances in 2019 (TasteTV and the Academy of Media Tastemakers for The Artisan Fragrance Salon). Okay… enough about prizes.
The fragrance is a bit like Fille en Aiguilles (Serge Lutens). We can feel the notes of cypress (Japanese), juniper trees, trees, resins, spices and notes of juicy and mixed GREEN, all of which are lifted up by a delicate incense. A great, green-pine-incense player. The smell is VERY NATURAL, especially because 98.5% of its ingredients come from nature. The hidden greenery of plants, trees and resins called 'black copal' is supposed to resemble the scent of a bonsai tree, its bark, juices and needles. I RECOMMEND
