Even a blind man..
...finds a grain of corn, as the German proverb goes. Whether I found so many grains in my blind test today, I dare to doubt. However, I have found something: Once again a fine fragrance of Silvana Casoli.

Susan gives me every now and then an unlabeled fragrance sample to test. I find good. That trains the nose and one is absolutely unprejudiced. Finally, you do not know at first at all, with what you have to do it.

But now comes the big but: You're just sometimes mercilessly off the mark, with what you think you smell. Me today so happened with Nuda of Il Profumo.

When I sprayed it on, I initially had chocolate in my nose. I thought at least to sniff something gourmandig sweet, albeit subtle and fine. Gourmandnoten one looks for Nuda, however, in vain, but after a later look at the notes I discovered honey and pistachios. I'm going to guess that they were trying to fool me into thinking I was dealing with a chocolate cake here. This association doesn't last long as the scent transforms after a short while. Gradually, a few notes come through that give the inherently very delicate construct some edge and give it a distinctly feminine and elegant edge. Here I had a really hard time with the classification. I might have guessed a clove, but we don't have that in Nuda either. All right, then. Next. And suddenly my beloved musk appeared, which I immediately recognized as such. Nuda becomes soft and fluffy as it goes on, inviting you to snuggle up. A really cuddly companion this is. I was sure we had an amber and musk base here. Again, not true! No amber for miles around. Again, with this supposed amber, I think I was probably led by the nose a bit by the honey. Could also be the opium note, which makes fun of me a bit there.

Is but everything really schnurz, the fragrance is great and really charming. Only one minus there is: just like my beloved Macadam is also this Il Profumo naturally set.

Many thanks to Susan for the fun blind test and the opportunity to get to know this fine fragrance.

From Ew! to Well to Huh?
"Ew!" What's that? Rotten fermented fruit to start. Thank you very much A moment passes and something light woody and nutty joins in with a hint of green. The pistachio from the base introduces itself. In the hour that follows, the scent winds down to body and begins to slowly shift into floral with still a hint of alcoholic fruit, but now quite bearable. The iris is accompanied by a touch of light wood to my nose. I don't detect any powdery notes at all. I would almost categorically rule out peach. If anything, I smell green grape, and it's about to become wine. Opium itself I've never smelled, and of course I can't rule out that it's responsible for the light-woody attitude, but my association remains with pistachio. At this point, I'm saying "oh well" - go for it, the heart notes. Iris soon takes its leave, and I'm left with an increasingly faint pistachio until there's nothing left of the scent. And so I get to the "huh?" as far as the base notes are concerned: oakmoss? Ginger? Musk?

It took about 3 - 4 hours to progress. Now about 8 hours have passed since I sprayed it, and I can still guess with my nose on my wrist that I had sprayed something there once today. Sillage? Only at the unsightly prelude.
I thank Mills for the test opportunity.

Nuda is misnamed - Should be called Nada
Nuda is an aldehyde-rich skin scent that is really no different from others in this genre, such as Nude by Bill Blass and Nude by Bijan. In fact, those two immediately came to mind during my first test of Nuda. Perhaps Nuda is a bit more pleasant & smooth than the other Nude perfumes, at least at the opening. Within an hour or two, Nuda becomes soapy - not powdery but soapy. Then it becomes pretty much nothing, nada, zip, zilch.

I am searching for a skin scent but with so many lovely fragrances in my collection, I have no compelling reason to wear something so undistinctive. Nuda is most definitely that - undistinctive. Should be called Nada. (Nothing.) If you are intrigued by this genre, give one of the other Nude fragrances a try. At least you'll save yourself a hundred bucks on a full bottle.

A versatile and unobtrusive skin-scent
One of the rare musky skin-scents which I adore. The idea, of course, is old-fashioned, but the construction of "NUDA" is innovative. A fresh, hay-like topnote is mixed with peachy and powdery accents. In the drydown, you find a touch of oakmoss, but will probably have a hard time trying to single out the often cited "pistachio note", which I for my part couldn't detect. "NUDA" is a quiet and discreet perfume which totally mingles with your skin, thus producing a natural effect. In my opinion it is devoid of any sexual connotations associated with its nameand the blurp in the press-material ("natural pheromones", "the smell of a woman's skin during sex/orgasm"). Forget about this stuff, it's ridiculous and has nothing to do with the perfume itself. "NUDA" is an unobtrusive musk which can be worn anywhere and anytime. It's very versatile! I've recently purchased my second bottle of it.
