Yuzu → cold compress
It's a domestic brand, but I'll review it without any bias.
One word: I don't recommend it to those who are looking for the scent of yuzu only.

Scent:Is it the scent of yuzu itself? Is it a single note of the scent of yuzu? → No, if you buy yuzu essential oil, you'll understand, but it's not a perfect reproduction of the scent of yuzu. If you want to taste real yuzu, the easiest way is to use yuzu essential oil. Since yuzu is not eaten, the peel is mainly used.
I have tried both Oyédo and Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria Forte Oud Yuzu .
Oyedo → At first, it has a refreshing peel scent of yuzu, such as lime and lemon bergamot, and later a benzoin-like scent comes in and it becomes a sweet scent.
Oud Yuzu → Heavy yuzu. Personally, I thought it didn't make the most of the goodness of yuzu. If you mix yuzu with oud or something similar, it becomes a cacophony like a light bird with a stone on it.
The yuzu in J-Scent is quite refreshing. It also has no astringency or bitterness like essential oils. In the background, you can always smell a refreshing herb like eucalyptus along with the yuzu. It's more green than citrus. So I can understand why some people think it's like a throat lozenge. Also, a menthol-containing compress.
After about 30 minutes, the yuzu scent disappears and it becomes an herb-like scent of thyme and eucalyptus. It's like a Santa Maria Novella with less ingredients. It reminds me of the muscle pain gel I bought in Italy a long time ago.
After 2 hours, it's a completely herbal scent. It smells like a compress. This lasts until the end, but if you just put it on your skin, it will last about 3 hours.
Oyedo's perfumer is Japanese, so I can't say for sure, but what's different from fragrances for overseas markets is that they don't use any strong synthetic musk, synthetic amber, patchouli, or vanilla in the base. I think that gives it a unique transparency.Perhaps for people who are used to strong designer perfumes, the fact that they don't use any synthetic musk is novel.

Conclusion: If you're looking for pure yuzu, buy the essential oil. If not, this scent contains a menthol-like herbal scent. It's like a medicinal patch. I think the reason they added it is probably to give you a refreshing feeling in the summer, and to maintain the lightness of yuzu while not creating a persistent scent that relies on synthetic musk. It's not suitable for people who just want pure yuzu. Completely unisex. It has an even lighter scent than the Guerlain Aqua Allegoria series.

(Background)
Yuzu was introduced from China and is native to that country. It is said to have been introduced in the early Heian period, and was cultivated domestically during the Asuka and Nara periods. It is still cultivated today, and Japan has the largest production volume in the world. In Japan, it is a tradition to put yuzu in the bath on the winter solstice. The oil that seeps out of the peel warms the body during the cold season. It is also often used in cooking and desserts. The scent is difficult to describe, but it is sweet like tangerine but not as bitter as lime. However, it is not as sharp as lemon.

I’m So Free / The Only Yuzu Fragrance.
Some know it. The search for that one scent.
It drives you to test more. To buy more than to consume. To seek more than to find.
It may sound unhealthy.
This endless curiosity that revives the little child within you, in contrast to the everyday life driven by worries, fears & stress. This infinitely wide grin, the huge fire in the heart & the sparkling twinkle in the eyes :

MY
LOVE
FOR
FRAGRANCES.

I have only been writing reviews for a while now when something particularly moves, occupies, or excites me about the topic of perfume (you can always find detailed scent descriptions under my statements as the first comment).
Just as a vent to let my soul run free in the traffic jam, so that it can be free again.

- Here we go -

Perhaps you’ve noticed that I’ve been searching forever for an authentic & fresh scent with the citrus fruit Yuzu. And yes, I have really tried them all by now, so I don’t need any more tips, haha (in the future, however, I will still keep my eyes open for new releases with this sexy fruit, hehe :)).
It was a journey full of disappointments, especially in the European market.
This is also because, as far as I know, the fruit is only grown/used industrially in Japan, China & Korea, and European brands for unknown reasons do not access the right oil.
Possible reasons :
Mandarin, lime, grapefruit & bergamot are simply more conventional & established/popular (Why then call it Yuzu in the fragrance pyramid/title, you time-wasting bluffers?)
Or as the perfumer Martin Fuhs from the brand Grauton once told me :
“Yuzu is incredibly difficult to incorporate into a formulation (or to focus on). The pure oil lacks enough individuality and is quickly associated with lemon and grapefruit or generally other citrus fruits.”
Expensive artisan brands, which I would have expected to skillfully & noticeably use real Yuzu oil, did not focus the scent on this note & citrus-fruity direction. At least those I tested (correct me if I’m wrong).

One might justifiably ask after all this: What does Yuzu even smell like & what makes this fruit so special that so many brands falsely boast about it, and I have searched for it in fragrances for so long?

Hehe, shortly thereafter I got the pure oil, Yuzu tea with fruit slices & other products (see album).
My associations would be :
Citrusy, green-mandarin, damp-floral & sweet-grapefruit, somewhat sour & bitter at the same time. Like the peel of a green-mandarin & sour lemon, from which you extract the bitter-sweet grapefruit oil at the sea with the damp wind from the sound of the sea.
It is not too citrusy-bitter, and not too fruity-sweet either. It creates a hybrid of several citrus fruits, which may also be due to the fact that it is a cross between lemon & mandarin from China.

That’s why one should, as my predecessor Ventoaureo, thanks to whom I quickly came across this scent & information about the fruit, already said, not lump all citrus fruits together. You know it from real life: Lime is not the same as an orange and so on.
And great citrus scents are, in my eyes, just as beautiful, complex, valuable & commendable as dense artisan hits. You just have to search for the right ones and have a certain affection for them. This can take a long time.
Both worlds make me happy, but nothing feels better than a great & natural refreshment in summer.

At some point, it became clear to me: I have to look in Japan & Korea, where brands also use real Yuzu oil.

And instead of listing all the failures from these regions (among others from the brand Di Ser), let me tell you one thing :
Only this damn scent has succeeded so far.
Welcome to Japan with the brand J-Scents, which annoys me because they only deliver this great scent to the USA, and one can only access it through Luckyscents (USA) with an extra $55 shipping fee and hefty customs! Yes, the healthy consumer speaks out of me. :D

This brand is indeed reliable: Here, pure Yuzu oil has been used, which is consistently noticeable. The previously mentioned attributes of this note are only enhanced by other citrus-fruity notes as an accompaniment (especially grapefruit), the bitterness of the fruit is further emphasized with the somewhat Mediterranean thyme herb, perfumed & lightly mentholated, for a brighter & deeper haze of the senses.
Down below in the base, there is also authentic cedarwood, as it should be as a woody base note & for proper hold. Somewhat matte, but not a dull pencil smell.
No musk or amber that would make it too powdery or creamy.
No Ambroxan or Iso-E-Super, whose artificial woody notes have already caused so many fresh scents to drift into the trivial & unpleasant when poorly or too strongly incorporated for more durability & sillage.

Even though there is some spice & wood involved - it remains a pleasantly authentic, juicy-citrusy refreshment. So simple, yet so particularly successful & mood-lifting, as it is constantly fruity-naturally-fresh. The European & mostly artificial mass market, to which I also count overpriced copy houses like Roja with their lukewarm & blue shower gel waters like Elysium, could learn a lot from this in terms of quality.

There is nothing shower gel-blue or penetratingly loud here.
At first, I thought that the thyme & cedarwood would overshadow/weaken the sprightliness of the Yuzu too much. But the more often I tested it & other fresh scents, the more I realized how long-lasting this great fruit is incorporated here, right in front of you, and how necessary these 2 other components are for creating a proper & lasting perfume.

And if that’s still not enough for you, just get the pure oil and layer it with this scent, just as an exceptional purist like I would do (see album). For… well, even more Yuzu ;D (but it’s by no means necessary, there is really enough Yuzu in here, haha). And for even more H/S (Yuzu holds well!) a woody molecule scent like Molecule 01 (at least it works on me with also longer fruitiness).

I will definitely get the scent soon, because no other freshie has made me feel as good lately as this Yuzu, lol. And believe me, I have already tried most of them, from drugstore & designers to niche & artisans. No scent has focused on this fresh fruit for so long and refreshed so grandly from beginning to end.
1000% test recommendation if you like this kind of thing :

I
AM
SCHOEIB / FREE.
Or maybe I’m just crazy & trapped, like we all are. ;D

I hope this review could help, enrich, inspire, or at least amuse you.
See you again in the statements. :)

And to conclude appropriately, here’s something Japanese as well! ^^ :

Yuzu Reference Fragrance?
"Yuzu" is currently the last J-Scent sample I can comment on, I hope to soon have the opportunity to test more fragrances from this exciting brand :)

Just to clarify... when I say "Yuzu," I mean the perfume, and Yuzu the fruit. I hope this makes it easier to understand :)

So now to the scent: "Yuzu" starts... quite unspectacularly and smells exactly like Yuzu smells. Citrusy, floral, and slightly menthol-like. It's difficult to explain what makes Yuzu a Yuzu, but once you know the differences, it's obvious. Just like a mandarin smells and tastes different from an orange or lemon. All citrus fruits, yet fundamentally different.

"Yuzu," the fragrance, remains quite focused on that very scent of Yuzus, feeling very juicy, natural, and pleasantly harmonious in the nose, almost lifelike and moist as if you had the fruit right in front of you. Nothing feels harsh or piercing. Light menthol-like nuances are woven into the scent, likely also coming from the thyme, otherwise, hardly any other notes are present. The rose, for example, does not show up at all.

"Yuzu" bears some similarity to Diptyque's "Oyédo," although the latter has stronger mint/menthol facets that can make the scent feel like a mint candy or toothpaste. In contrast, "Yuzu" is more of a pure natural Yuzu, yet still feels like "perfume" when worn, and not just like an old essential oil.

The longevity and sillage are a big surprise, because despite being a citrus scent, "Yuzu" really lasts relatively long, with 6 hours. This is not always the case with scents of this type, but it also has to do with the nature of the molecules, as citrus molecules tend to be light in molecular weight and thus more volatile and quickly "disappear." In short... "Yuzu" has better performance than "Oyédo" since the latter only lasted 2-3 hours on me.

Conclusion 1#: Yuzu is on my wish list, but I will probably only get it during my next visit to Japan, as it is immensely cheaper there than if one were to buy/order it from Germany.

Conclusion 2#: Yes, "Yuzu" can be considered a Yuzu reference fragrance, much more so than many other Yuzu scents for the Western market.

Honorable Mention: "Almost Transparent Blue" by ALabOnFire also has a very lovely Yuzu note, but is more intertwined with other notes that distract a bit, with poorer performance! Nevertheless, a great scent!

Thank you for reading! :)

beautiful combination
Starts piercingly sharp - top note more herbal Nimm2 than perfume. You can only really evaluate it after several minutes!

For me, a great combination of slightly tart yuzu, mandarin, and a light herbal note that comes to the forefront over time (for me, the heart note).

I grow thyme in several varieties myself, but I don't find the perfume as overwhelmingly intrusive as others describe it. Personally, I still smell a woody note in the background: not in the fragrance pyramid, but whatever it is fits in very well

Invigoratingly citrusy, fresh, cool, green, slightly spicy. For a summer scent in this direction, the longevity is top-notch. Price is already quite steep.

Hot Yuzu Tea
What I associate with Yuzu is the sweet, refreshing Yuzu lemonade that I sip in the summer while lounging in a hammock, reading a book in the shade.
Or a cup of spicy hot Yuzu tea that warms my fingers and lips in winter when the cold creeps through my clothes in the powdery snow of Hokkaido.

"I bought 'Yuzu / 柚子 (Eau de Parfum) | J-Scent' along with 'Koiame / 恋雨 (Eau de Parfum) | J-Scent' at a bargain price while traveling in Osaka. It smells authentically of real Yuzu. The unmistakable sweet-bitter citrus note, slightly tart and juicy, is complemented by the spiciness of thyme.
I find the great longevity very impressive. The scent accompanies me throughout the day and can even be detected on my wrist the following morning.

Burst of freshly-zested yuzu rind, quickly taken over by bergamot. The thyme balances nicely with the smooth lime mid. Sweet mandarin end.

In a word, it smells like yuzu and a poultice. It's not just yuzu. It smells like throat lozenges.

Bitter, rindy yuzu and grapefruit with an intensely herbal thyme that imparts an almost cough syrupy medicinal undertone.
