Ever danced with the devil in pale moonlight?
Fleur de Lune, a name that means moonflower. The interesting thing about the plant is that it only opens its flowers in the evening and at night. Its large, white flowers are said to resemble a (full) moon, hence the name.
Sounds quite nice, I think, and it also seems like a fragrance for the evenings, for going out, for example. Whether that is the case, I will describe in my comment here. In the meantime, you can google the moonflower :D
The fragrance:
The fragrance starts with roses and bergamot equally, with the sprightliness of the slightly spicy bergamot coming and going. However, it quickly becomes increasingly sweet, making the scent very pleasant already. Then the beautiful almonds begin to scent, which I think also have a slightly vanilla-like quality. The freesias provide a small floral note in the background, but are refreshingly not too stuffy. Additionally, the scent is beautifully powdery.
Hmm, although not specified, the sweetness occasionally strikes me as jasmine-like. In the base, the fragrance does not change much and remains almond-sweet, with a slightly woody background.
The sillage and longevity:
The sillage is quite okay, not overly strong, but noticeable for some time. A small scent cloud may also linger.
Thus, the longevity is quite decent at more than eight hours.
The bottle:
The bottle is cylindrical and steeply rises towards the neck, almost pyramid-shaped. It is capped with a black, cylindrical lid. The fragrance liquid is yellowish. On the front of the bottle, there is a large blue label with white speckled dots as a background pattern. The name of the fragrance is elegantly written on it. A beautiful bottle, it reminds me of the bottles from Laboratorio Olfattivo.
At first, the fragrance reminded me of scents like Alien, perhaps just slightly less sweet, but more herb-floral. The almond note is, of course, always lovely. You ladies compare the scent to L’Instant Magic by Guerlain… but unfortunately, I still don’t know that one, so I can’t comment on it :(
What I can say is that this is a wonderful fragrance that could especially be used for going out.
However, the partner for the evening should not say something like upon seeing a moonflower:
“Ever danced with the devil in pale moonlight?”!! What initially seems romantic-gothic (or satanic? Because of the devil…) is actually… once again a quote from the first Batman film (yes, yes, don’t say anything…) by Tim Burton, where Michael Keaton as Batman says this to Jack Nicholson (who is the Joker) as he dances with the kidnapped Vicky Vale high up on the bell tower under the moonlight… um, well… :D
But as I said, I think the fragrance suits you ladies very well for going out and is worth a test. For those who want to wear it casually, I recommend either autumn or spring as the season.
