Unusual Vanilla Scent :)
Van-Île simply had to be tested ... I can never get enough of vanilla scents ... especially when they are not purely vanilla. I prefer it when the scent remains exciting throughout its development ... Van-Île is different ... exciting ... unusual ;)
Thanks for the sample ... that a dear person once packed into a fragrance package for me :)
About the scent:
The opening begins with a rather ethereal orange. I can quite clearly sniff out bergamot and a hint of almond. It smells ethereal, almondy, and lemony.
Floral notes and a slightly powdery heliotrope join in. I also perceive earthy patchouli.
With vanilla, animalistic musk, and oak moss, it moves into the base. I find the scent development of Van-Île simply genius.
Dark, enchanting, and so different from typical vanilla gourmands ... that is Van-Île. Never too sweet ... rather balsamic-musk-like with animalistic tones and a slightly smoky-spicy quality this vanilla presents itself.
The longevity is just under 8 hours and the sillage is strong at first but flattens after about 2 hours.
An enchanting scent aura is certainly guaranteed for the wearer. Unisex in my opinion :)
I would categorize the scent for spring, autumn, and winter. In summer, it would be too heavy for me personally.
The bottle is simple and typical for the Zolty line.
Conclusion:
An unusual vanilla scent ... lemony, spicy, fine patch plus almond and an animalistic musk bed. It has something genius about it :)
I am torn between wanting to have it and rather not :) As genius as it is, I could also imagine that it would annoy me quite quickly.
For anyone looking for an extraordinary vanilla scent, Van-Île should definitely be tested.

I tested it yesterday. Yes, it really is unusual. I notice that I'm into sweet scents at the moment... *thinking*

That's exactly how I feel about the scent - lovely comment. :) Heliotrope with vanilla and patchouli... In the end, it becomes creamy and soapy - very nice, but personally, it's a bit too heavy for me... too stuffy.

I actually found this scent quite unusual and annoying. ;-) But there are definitely much nicer vanilla fragrances...

I think it's one of those scents that really impresses you, but you’d never actually wear it.

Nice, informative - thank you! I enjoyed reading the comment. As a non-vanilla fan, my discovery journey into the world of vanilla scents ends here, so I'll skip the test.

Smirk - that's definitely more to Sweetys' taste than creaky fellows like "North" and the like, ;-)!

Vanilla usually comes across as too sweet for me, so I prefer it in desserts :o)

I usually have issues with vanilla scents. They may be nice, which I acknowledge, but they're just not my taste. There needs to be a crisp counterbalance. So this one sounds quite interesting to me. I really enjoyed reading your comment, Vanilla Mouse! ;-)

I'd rather stick to the vanilla crescent cookies that my daughter has been baking lately.

Sounds at least unusual...... ;) But I can actually imagine that it could become overwhelming with frequent wear.
