Sunny day
Vacances.. The name alone puts a smile on my face, in anticipation of a sunny vacation as soon as this pandemic thing is over.
So today is the day we let this genie out of the bottle. Nice bottle, by the way, that came in an even nicer box. Anyway..
As if my wishes were immediately granted, today turned out to be the first sunny day after weeks of cold windy rainy weather. No work, no chores, no worries on my mind. A beautiful spring day. Perfect setting for this beautiful perfume.
Vacances doesn’t burst open with citrus. Instead the florals fade in, as if they start blooming in the morning sun. I get a dry pollen-like floral scent, in colors I’d say purple and yellow. Fresh in the sense of fresh flowers. Also stemmy green notes. Spectacular natural elegance! Effortless beauty in a Parisian chic way.
With time the floral notes vary a little in intensity, keeping it an joyous experience. Nothing dramatic. Not too serene either. Just a gentle aura of joy, class and sunshine. This goes on for a good six hours or so. Then, a pleasant styrax note announces the final stage. Sunset.
