The Christmas variant of the Classique

This isn't the standard Classique (Eau de Toilette), this is the Eau de Parfum - and as such, not just more concentrated, but a really different scent. It smells sweet - which is possibly the mandarin and vanilla. Personally, I always have the association with Christmas and cookies. Besides that, it's also floral and I personally smell a woody note as well, probably sandalwood. I like it, but somehow it's too cookie-like for me - so I always recommend the standard Classique EdT.

Reformulation of horror

It's a shame that Gaultier is editing all its good fragrances or taking them out of the range.

Consistency also stands out.
Especially for big brands.

The predecessor in the lace dress was really beautiful!
I no longer like the modern version.
The main thing is to produce new fragrances like on an assembly line.

That's terrible...

What the hell has happened here? I love the EdT, I loved the old EdP, which I unfortunately never bought.
Naive as I sometimes am, I recently ordered this version without much thought. I hadn't noticed any reformulation and I thought I couldn't go wrong.

Far from it! This "fragrance" may be called Classique, but it doesn't deserve the name at all. It is neither elegant nor beautiful.
This water in the wrong guise can't do anything and that disappoints me deeply. How can you let something like this pass? :-(

What comes out of the bottle is not Classique. If you look, you can find a very light note, but it could also be a cheap dupe.

It smells like cheap soap, like an unappealing composition... and somehow more like a men's perfume.

I'm so disappointed, I can't say any more about it. This is a cheek.

As always, the bottle is beautiful, but the contents are not. I've now layered two sprays of the EdT over it to make it last, but I think I'll have to take a shower during my lunch break.

pukey drunk strangers

Jean Paul Gaultier Classique does not list jasmine in the official notes yet it smells like a glittery jasmine vanilla powder bomb drunken dance floor. It recalls an evening I visited a friend and without telling first, she had agreed with other friends that we'd all meet up and go to a club. Being a brutally shy homebody, that's the last thing I EVER want to do, but as a visiting guest, you're sometimes trapped into these things, and I am also a people pleaser, so there you go. And there we went. The ladies room was filled with tipsy club-goers fixing their hair and makeup, and our mutual friend pulled a whole-ass bottle of perfume from her purse to refresh her scent. Even me, being the perfume obsessed weirdo I am, thinks that's strange. A whole bottle, wow. Anyway, it was this Jean Paul Gautier scent, and to this day it makes me think of boozy nightclub cocktails and the jasmine-scented tears of strangers in bathrooms telling me they love me just moments before puking on my feet.
