Odd interesting scent that while a bit synthetic does try to be different.
Odd! Smelling this on my son (16) tonka bean was highly apparent which wasn’t on me at all and little to no Bal d'Afrique Eau de Parfum so your results may vary. Review as posted yesterday 9th June 26.
Rounding out my review of the six launch scents I can’t help but be hugely disappointed by the range. I really bought into these when announced especially given the noses behind them. They vary greatly in quality, ultimately they all suffer the same critical problem in that they are positioned as a premium private line but they are all, quality wise, for me no better tho the regular lines. When compared to, say, LVMH brands Dior private line or LV they are miles off and don’t cost that much less.
Santal Paname opens with a nice violet leaf. It quite gentle and sweet. It is very well blended. The blackcurrant becomes apparent but does fade into the blend after a few minutes. It does go in the Bal d'Afrique Eau de Parfum direction a bit harsher on the nose than when smelled close on skin. In the air not so much.
It’s nice I’d put it there with Rose Palace score wise.
It takes fifteen minutes to get there fully and is a bit different but you get more or less the same result as Bal d'Afrique Eau de Parfum so if you like that then - well just buy the 50ml for £155 and can be has for 20% off from time to time when shops have sales or price match.
Oh well. I won’t be back if they launch any more in this range. Still feels like £35 wasted on a tester set. honestly.
