Water Drops Dripping From The Leaves
If I told you evergreen, what would come to your mind? It could mean having foliage that remains green and functional for more than one growing season or universally and continuously relevant, not limited in applicability to a particular event or date. Which of these two definitions drew inspiration to give the fragrance its name? The former does not fit very well as the scent does have a light greenish colour, but it does not smell of foliage or grass or other types of evergreen plants. Instead, the latter might be appropriate because the fragrance is fresh, flowery, and rightfully timed. Its packaging and the colour of the juice immediately made me imagine something pristine, of morning dew, vegetation wet by billions of water drops, or fresh flowers that have just blossomed and caressed by a light spring breeze. I looked for the notes here, and when I saw the pear, lily-of-the-valley, and santal, I took them blindly because I trust my instincts.
Evergreen begins fresh and pure like a scented garden on a spring morning, with crispy and juicy pear and zesty grapefruit blossoms. I think I have never experienced the smell of those blossoms, which I liken to neroli or orange blossoms. The pear is stunning, authentic, unripe, and juicy yet not too sweet or cloying. That fruity and floral accord is slightly spiced with a pinch of white pepper. In the first few minutes, what appeals to me is a delicate light green and fruity, juicy and excellent pear. But that fades on my skin quite quickly, leaving a nice powdery mix of core notes.
The scent is slightly tart, sour at first, but that goes away after a few minutes, and minimally aquatic, which doesn’t bother me here because this slightly sunken breeze gives the scent an incredible freshness. The rose stands out in the heart, imagined as a stroll through a dew-covered garden full of fresh flowers, interpreted as buds bursting into bloom. The delicate, crystalline notes of Jasmine and Lily-of-the-Valley complete this natural harmony. The rose results in a successful mixture that is floral-green and soft, and slightly powdery.
At ]first, I smell more of lily of the valley and pear, then it becomes more musky and creamy. The sensual dry-down comes with the raw strength of patchouli softened with the creaminess of the sandalwood and the warmth of enveloping vanilla. I can only hear subtly the latter that helps make the scent soft and cuddly but does not make it sweet. As long as you can smell it, and that’s only a few hours, it’s only refreshing like a glass of sparkling water with a hint of green pear flavour.
Yes, this delicate fragrance is very clear, refreshing and light. Everything in this fragrance looks very tender, and the green is neither intense nor scratchy. It is not a natural green; I have never smelled anything like it in nature. It is greener abstract; it flows like green, fresh silk and clings to the flowers. Certainly suitable as a refreshment for the summer or sports. The fragrance looks green like the bottle. You feel as if something has transported you directly to nature, and you smell a cloud of green buds and crunchy, not yet ripe pears blown by the wind. It is feminine and light without being too feminine. Also, I can imagine it looks good on many men with an open mind. Moderate sillage and projection will be a good choice when you are around others and want a very soft skin scent to wear.
I base the review on a 30ml bottle I have owned since April 2022.
