Character Peach with Depth
What a pleasant surprise Jil Sander has delivered with "Sunset".
Such an expressive, deep, summery peach scent is truly one of a kind.
And yes, I am writing this review as a man.
I don't see why one should refrain from sharing their opinion on a fragrance for the opposite sex.
I'll get straight to the point and start with the impression from the first spray.
A wonderfully sweet/ripened peach is indeed what unmistakably comes through in the nose.
It is beautifully balanced, feels quite natural, and immediately caresses the senses.
You instantly crave something with juicy peach.
Anyone afraid of rose scents should perk up their ears:
My wife absolutely dislikes rose fragrances. From her perspective (which I partially share), they often come across as rather old-fashioned. Elegant but somehow reminiscent of grandma, old soap, or other care products with rose scent.
Here, one can give the all-clear without worry.
Yes, there is an elegant hint of rose present, but it is introduced so subtly and gracefully that even young ladies should delight in "Sunset".
No trace of outdated, boring rose scent.
No, here the fragrance of this beautiful flower has been elevated to a new level. More of this, please.
In the drydown, not much happens in the fragrance progression, which I appreciate - because up close, this scent is a real cuddler. This is how you want to get closer to your beloved.
This subtly creamy, powdery quality smells simply wonderful and tempting.
Thus, I come to the longevity, which is a real surprise. However, this was already impressive with "Jil Sander Sun Coral Pop".
I'll say it delicately (hihi). When you get close at night, this summery elegant scent still radiates beautifully.
In numerical terms, it lasts about 6-8 hours. Then, while close to the skin, it is still distinctly noticeable.
There are also positives to report about the sillage. Anyone in a room with a woman wearing "Sunset" who doesn't notice this scent probably has no nose for (beautiful) fragrances. I mean, it projects well, and it's nearly impossible not to notice it.
All in all, Jil Sander's Sunset may not be THE ultra-great hit, but it certainly revitalizes the somewhat dated line and adds quite a bit to it.
Gone are the years of yawningly boring freshies; "Sunset" can do more than that.
It has character, it stands by it, and it confidently represents itself and its wearer.
That's worth this review to me.
Summer can come; "Sunset" is THE positive discovery of the year in the mid-range segment of women's summer fragrances.
Definitely give it a try, get out in the sun, and let it work its magic on you!
Have a fragrant day :)

Well written! It's actually interesting to read how it's perceived on the masculine side! I also like the over 80% natural ingredients-if that's true;-)
