Affrontingly Generic
A basic fresh scent with citrus, a bit of sweetness, some floral notes, and a hint of earthy and woody notes in the base. However, these are definitely on the more synthetic side and not particularly decipherable. Pleasant, but nothing more interesting than a basic fresh, body wash. Longevity is relatively poor, projecting relatively minimally and lasting only a few hours even as an intimate scent.

It's hard to believe anyone would call it a bad smell, and I've honestly had more people compliment this than some of my other fragrances. As someone who likes storytelling in fragrances, who enjoys more challenging notes, and who ultimately wants to smell something unique, this is absolutely none of these things.

A fragrance like having your gym bag thrown onto the garage roof
In the past, not everything was better. But sometimes it certainly feels that way. I am often glad, or at least relieved, that I am not a child today when I read (or observe) how mean children can be to each other. When I was little, being 'mean to other kids' meant holding someone back at the bus stop by grabbing their backpack - or taking someone's gym bag and throwing it onto the roof of a garage. That was annoying, for sure. But unlike today, where even thirteen-year-olds post real or fabricated compromising content about their peers on Instagram, Facebook, or elsewhere (which remains on the internet until the end of time), the gym bag incident was annoying but fundamentally harmless.

The idea of grafting an (over-)pointed fruity note onto a fragrance that is otherwise (over-)conservatively masculine arranged (here: pepper, wood, and patchouli) is not new. On the contrary, Aventus and its famous pineapple note are perhaps the most prominent example of a 'cheeky fruity scent for men', and even Bleu de Chanel (where it is grapefruit instead of pineapple) relies on such a concept. Jimmy Choo Man uses a nearly identical formula - not even attempting to disguise this - and yet it does not come close to the - certainly not uncontroversial - qualities of the two aforementioned 'classics'. It should be noted that many other 'fruit meets sport' candidates appear far cheaper and more synthetic - in contrast, Jimmy Choo Man is almost reassuringly peaceful.

Conclusion: it is not truly terrible - but in its almost provocative lack of ideas and predictability, it is simply unnecessary. Not quite as bad as nude pictures on Instagram - but as silly as a gym bag on the garage roof. Annoying, yes. But ultimately harmless.

Casual Elegance
Since I found Man Ice for one friend yesterday, I tried Man for the other friend today.

He is a humorous drummer who likes to hit the drums hard - but a fragrance shouldn't knock him off his feet, as he is sensitive.

Man should suit him, as the ingredients are balanced and keep him in rhythm.

Honeydew and mandarin are clear and aquatic, and the lavender radiates calmness.
A gentle, soothing opening.

The pink pepper appears soft and sweet - but adds spice to the mix.
The suede feels comforting in the background, and the woods are light and translucent.
Patchouli wafts gently above.

A casually elegant fragrance - with a sense of finesse - that my dear friend also displays in his interactions with me.

I will repay him with this harmonious scent.

Bleu de Chanel light
I just had to test this fragrance, especially since "Jon Snow" is endorsing it. And I was positively surprised. However, the scent of Jimmy Choo cannot deny who it is imitating. It is the flagship of Chanel.

I would describe Jimmy Choo as a more watery version of Bleu de Chanel. And that is also the reason why I am considering adding this fragrance to my collection. As much as I love Bleu, it is not particularly suitable for summer, as it tends to become a bit too sweet for my taste.

Unfortunately, this newfound lightness comes at the expense of longevity: I can’t perceive the scent for more than four hours...

In short: this fragrance certainly has "good genes" to be able to stand the test of time in the market.

Two Fools, No Thought
When I had the new, first men's fragrance from Jimmy Choo under my nose, I immediately thought of the title of Unruh's comment... How bland & characterless can a scent be?

And this as the first men's perfume from a major brand. Quite pathetic and cowardly. And yet, Jimmy Choo is no small name; the presentation is pretty & all creative and successful possibilities were open... and then such a generic fragrance that tries not to hurt anyone. But it hurts me even more, because with a decent, distinctive perfume, there would have been potential at Jimmy Choo... Would have, could have, if only, you see, I’m getting lost in wishful thinking and I’m "just" a critic and neither a perfumer nor a senior employee or consultant at Jimmy Choo. But I can get worked up about something like this!

I’ve often heard that Jimmy Choo Man is the better Invictus... what nonsense! It’s just prettier on the outside; the rest could really learn something from Rabanne's trophy, it’s not even a light version. JC Man is a fresh-fruity forget-me-quick. Mandarin and melon at the start, but they are very synthetically smeared and don’t really refresh. I hardly perceive pineapple, so at least they didn’t try to jump on the Aventus bandwagon, which I initially suspected. There’s no talk of a base; in the heart, even the often generously noticeable and used pepper is diluted and lacks courage. Grade: almost 6!

Bottle: really valuable and beautiful.
Sillage: not worth a word
Longevity: 4-5 hours - at least longer than the scent stays in your mind.

Conclusion: almost worse than a stinking experiment... because that at least requires some courage. This doesn’t stink, but it simply puts you to sleep incredibly.

It smells nice, is a safe inoffensive crowd-pleaser and therefore easy to wear. But there's really nothing unique about it.

An often-complimented, yet uninspiring fresh fragrance composed of basic, barely discernible notes like a mass-produced body wash

The instant I sprayed this I was like, "wow, that smells like Coach for men" - the epitome of uber-generic, aromatic, watery fruitiness.

I got his for 30 dollars and the projection was incredible for the first hour but then it slowly faded, great for the price

The Toyota Camry of fragrances - wear this to not stand out at all. Classic case of trying to please everyone and pleasing no one

Nothing to write to home about. Very poor projection. Wont last at all. Glad I had a sample to try it first. Very safe to wear.

Its sweet and... a bit fruity... and... heavy on amroxan... and that's about it. Random fragrance noise in a bottle

A soapy fruit with a small spicy kick and woody base. That probably made it sound better than it came off. Meh scent, very weak performance.

It's not that bad. A harmless freshie. I'm surprised by the extreme criticism. I find it wearable and similar to the popular "Bleu".

News from the category: a bit of everything but nothing really. A bit of fruit, a bit of freshness, a bit of spice. SH below average.
