A beautiful, warm seductive fragrance
One of my favorite Jo Malone scents, I find myself constantly smelling my arms when I wear this one. I could bathe in it—it has such a gorgeous warmth to it. The longevity and sillage are fantastic, so bathing in it wouldn’t be advised.
It’s more feminine, but I can see some men wearing it with no problem. You have to love jasmine though, as it is first and foremost in your face. I don’t smell marigold at all, and didn’t know they had a scent.
In any case, you think of tropical gardens while wearing this fragrance. It’s pricey, but totally worth every penny. Bring it on! It’s so sexy!

Powdery Jasmine
I love Jasmine and a fair share of white florals, but I can see how this one can be very intense and even head-y. It's a beautiful, classy powdery Jasmine perfume, with great lasting power. I was surprised to see this as recommended for warmer weather since I think the powdery and creamy quality makes for a comforting and yet alluring winter scent.

Do you really, really like marigold?
I feel torn about this fragrance.
Marigold is one of the few flowers I really don't like to smell, but I heard so many good things about this scent that I still wanted to try it.
And at first, I thought it was the right decision and that I would have missed out if i didn't.

This smells so realistically floral, like a jasmine shrub at night in full bloom. It's sweet and creamy with an undertone of overripeness, borderline decay. Just like real flowers can smell! The ylang ylang and vanilla are quite noticeable next to the jasmine, they make the scent sweeter and warmer and keep the indolic notes in check. It's beautiful. Everything is good.

That is until I finally notice the marigold. Ugh, no, I still can't stand this flower! It always smells musty to me. And it's such a shame, the rest of the scent is so natural, rich and hypnotic, the whole opening is stunning... And then the stupid old marigold kicks in and ruins it for me.

I don't know how to rate this. I gave it a measly 6.5 because I got to be honest, I don't really like it as a whole. If you're into realistic florals and don't mind marigold, if you maybe don't even perceive it as a funky note in general, don't let that deter you. Jasmine Sambac & Marigold might be perfect for you. It's certainly a well-made scent, and I should have let the name be a warning to me.

Elegant, deep, calming Jasmine
This is the perfume that brought me to the joy of perfume collecting. It is also the one that made me realize my love for white flowers in general and jasmine in particular. It's such a deep, classy, sophisticated jasmine scent.

I was obsessed with it the moment the Jo Malone store clerk in Rome sprayed it on my wrist. It was a hot, 42°C day. I was initially only curious about the normal cologne and tested the English Pear & Freesia and Peony & Blush Suade. I was not ready to buy a full bottle right away because of the price. But then, I saw the black cologne intense bottles. I asked what the differences were, and she sprayed this on me. It did not impress me at first, but then after a few hours, I came back to the store, asking the name of the bottle, then later bought it on my birthday. Even now, after sniffing the Tom Ford Jasmine Rouge, Diptyque Olene and Do Son, and Chloe Jasmine Nomade, this jasmine scent still leave a big impression on me. It's not a rich Jasmine milktea like Jasmine Rouge. It's not a bouquet of jasmine and other flowers like Do Son and Olene. It's not just passing by a jasmine on the way to a vanilla shop like Chloe Nomade Jasmine. This scent is more like an elegant mysterious lady with a calm voice you meet spontanously somewhere and cannot get her out of your head. For me, the scent is like that.

I sprayed this when I'm nervous. Or before going to bed. Or simply for a night out. I think this scent could be overwhelming for those who are not into or get headache with jasmine. But for me, it's just perfect. It lasts around 6-8 hours on me, so the price is okay.

The Modest Diva
It can't be true that Jo Malone, or rather the previously unknown perfumer Mathilde Bijaoui, has created such a dreamy jasmine scent!
I generally appreciate Malone fragrances for their natural quality, but until now, I have only found my luck in layering two scents - this one convinces me as the first Malone fragrance that works beautifully on its own.

Today I tested Jasmine Sambac & Marigold and after the first sniff on paper, I immediately had it sprayed on my wrist, which cost me almost no courage in this case, as it already smelled fantastic on paper - warm and golden, yet equipped with fresh components, enchantingly floral with a certain "background!"

In detail, this means that the golden jasmine sambac and the wonderful ylang-ylang flower immediately rise to my nose, subtly underlined by the mild-spicy freshness of marigold and lemon. Benzoin and amber provide a warm-balsamic foundation, which gains a pleasantly creamy note from the added vanilla. The scent strikes me as floral, rounded, fresh, and radiant at the same time. I could roll in it!!!
As a lover of Dior's "J'adore" fragrances, it reminds me of J'adore-L’absolu and also of Dior's noble "Grand Bal." I also find Roberto Cavalli's "Roberto Cavalli," despite its lack of jasmine note, not too far off - only that "Jasmine Sambac & Marigold" lacks any showy, vamp-like note. It doesn't need it, as its radiant elegance ensures a wonderfully feminine effect. I can only imagine the scent on a man in exceptional cases.
After five hours, I can still perceive it on my wrist, albeit slightly diminished, even the next morning. With a moderate sillage of a maximum of one meter, I find it pleasantly natural and unobtrusively elegant. In my opinion, it is well-suited for the colder season, but I can also easily imagine it in spring or on cool summer days due to its unobtrusiveness.

“Jasmine Sambac & Marigold” is a not overly sweet, warm, vanilla-creamy, yet golden radiant winter jasmine scent that one can only dream of. With it, I don't feel like a vamp, but like a modest diva.
I would love to buy it right away, but my allergy-prone life has taught me to first acquire a sample to test it thoroughly. I am looking forward to it!

Another masterpiece : it's a unisex fragrance but I find it very feminin , with its Jasmine-ylang heart. Perfectly balanced. Price very high

Relentless jasmine with a sweet, creamy-amber base. Cloying in its persistence and lack of personality.

Moderately sweet, golden jasmine, subtly spiced with marigold and lemon, in a soft bed of vanilla, amber, and benzoin.

Jasmine + nothing else. Strong jasmine, others might say it stinks. Definitely perfect for layering, as intended. Mono is too boring.

Opulent jasmine, a warm summer night, crafted to perfection, layered with myrrh & tonka - a spectacular evening scent, I love it.

Jasmine perfume, almost as pure-scented as the flowers themselves. Heavy and intense. Ylang-Ylang with a hint of calendula cream.

Jasmine the other way around: first spicy, then zesty. It's a shame about the orange that comes out in the base; it ruins the spiciness.
