delicately brushed
Already this spring, this fragrance was brought to my attention.
My Belgian fragrance friend Jessica from the facebook community "Eau my soul" described him so lovingly and the photos she arranged around it - with many flowers and beautiful china - awakened my desire to get to know this creation of Jo Malone also.
So I was thrilled when I received a bottling of it with the last fragrance packet from Heikeso. To receive this is always a great pleasure!
I got to know the brand Jo Malone already in the spring of 2015 and especially their then "Season Collections" have done it to me.
This clarity of the fragrances, the sometimes unusual combination of fruit, floral and woody, still fascinates me.
And now the time begins when they find their enticingly fragrant place again on skin and hair.
Of course, I assumed that "Sakura Cherry Blossom" would be a cherry blossom scent; so much for the extent to which photographs can influence the imagination.
But the view of the pyramid with my beloved mimosa in the heart, let no disappointment arise at all.
There is also no reason at all after testing: this assumed "false cherry blossom" smells magical and holds in the course of the fragrance still a surprise.
The freshness of the awakening spring receives this fragrance painting of bergamot and juicy tangerine. Just this makes the Entrée tangy and lively, without becoming sharp or intrusive.
And then they come! The small yellow balls with their fragrance, so sweet and at the same time so pleasantly tart: the mimosa!
Most fragrance compositions in which they find a place, radiate this summery southern magic. And they do so here too!
They have been cleverly married with a rose of rich slightly spicy aroma.
So both are equal partners and convey a balanced harmony.
And suddenly I also encounter the delicately fragrant cherry blossoms that give "Sakura Cherry Blossom" its name; so they do exist, and they are swirling happily around!
The previous arrangement is also stored on a light-colored, certainly not exotic, wooden base.
So this pleasantly fruity floral swirl is a little more earthy and powdered by a fine layer of musk.
Everything here is very fine and light and yet extremely fragrant.
"Sakura Cherry Blossom" reminds me of Japanese painting, which is artfully executed with a very fine brush and often also decorates very thin-shelled porcelain teacups: delicate black lines, representing branches and pink petals!
Or the cherry blossoms dancing in the balmy spring air, which often make you want to catch them in an imaginary apron like "star talers" before they can fly away completely.
Like most Jo Malone fragrances, this one is not very long lasting: a spring breeze just, but sprayed on damp hair, becomes a little more durable and so brings itself in a nice way again and again in memory.
I like this Japanese cherry blossom festival, which is still a joy even in early summer due to its charming nature: charming she is, the little petite lady!
