Vanilla Scotch Jo Malone 2026

I know the running joke is that Jo Malone has light fragrances that disappear quickly but I've not found that to be the case at all until this scent.
I literally can't smell anything. It smelled like wet paper towels. On skin, I got the faintest vanilla and then it was gone. Like instantly gone. nothing. It must be just full of Ambroxans as I physically cannot smell those, like my brain doesn't process those molecules.

For some time, I've been looking for a fragrance with vanilla and amber that feels enveloping and warm. Other fragrances have been too complex for me so far, such as Ambre Extrait de Parfum: Beautiful and apparently THE amber fragrance, but too complex for me to have that cozy feeling.

Vanilla Scotch won me over pretty quickly. To me, it's warm, soft and enveloping, without becoming too heavy or overpowering. The vanilla is soft and creamy, with a warm, slightly resinous amber note alongside it. In the background, I pick up something woody and subtly whiskey-like, which is what makes the fragrance for me.

It reminds me of a bar with dark solid wood furnishings that have been there for decades and show signs of wear (in a positive sense), somewhere in Scotland, with autumn rain outside and me drinking a Vanilla Scotch by a fireplace indoors. This is the mood the fragrance captures for me.
