Tree resins
McCall brings us a spirited tale of the great timbers. With Arborist he digs deep into the core, the soul of the fir tree, where all the saps flow and gradually turn in to resins.
Right from the start, this feels like a blend of tree resins and honey primarily. Multifaceted with all these resins and subtle accents, but not overcomplicated. It is ultimately soothing and stays close to the forest theme. Little bright accents come from the fruity notes and a well-implemented saffron. There are faint fruity-floral whiffs all the time and something of a soil note to complete the atmospheric portrait.
Arborist is very much a theme scent. Very effective in evoking a dark and gloomy atmosphere resembling some imaginary primeval forest. In the drydown phase, it becomes less an enchanting forest trip and more a functional, perfectly wearable labdanum-honey-saffron scent.
