Mature "bad boy"
When a "bad boy" grows up and becomes a gentleman without denying his past. That's what Pavillon Rouge is.
It's a high quality whisky matured in fine wood barrels, it's a brand new leather jacket. It's a vanilla flavored tobacco burning with balsamic resins.
It's a lively alcoholic note as soon as it's sprayed, opening up just after a minute with warm woody accord and then closing up in a bitter and enveloping scent, like ground coffee or cacao, with benzoin and spices that are keeping up the vivacity throughout all the evolution, with a soft leather note as a foundation from beginning to end.
It's a dance of all the colors of the fall.

Boozy, Leathery & *Unisex* (No Matter What They Say)
This is fabulous! Even though Pavillion Rouge is marketed for men, I was very comfortable wearing it, and I think a lot of other women would be just as comfortable as I.

The opening is spicy, boozy wonderfulness. I think it's the sesame rounding out the boozy notes, although I don't get a lot of obvious sesame. I love
spicy rum notes, but I enjoyed the rum and whiskey combo in PR. I am not always a fan of whiskey notes on me. They usually come off a bit sharp, or I smell like I spilled a drink all over myself. In PR, the whiskey/rum combo is beautifully done.

The boozy accord remains for a while as the heart notes come to the fore, and the fragrance becomes a little sweeter. Leather definitely dominates here, at least on me, and it is well-supported by a sweet tobacco and tea. The tea helps keep the scent from becoming too heavy. I don't get a lot of coffee, just a slight touch of bitterness, which balances everything.

I liked the drydown more than I was expecting, as I've not have much luck with ebony, but in PR, it's really good and combines beautifully with the Benzoin and Vanilla.

This lasts a long time, at least 8 -9 hours. The projection is approximately arm's length for most of that time. It does fade in the final couple of hours, but I still had a very pleasant scent-bubble. It is pricey, but it's also one of the best liquor & leather scents I've tested. If this is a scent profile you like, this is worth a try.

A good resinous amber with nuances of liquors, but the competition is formidable.
Jovoy Pavillon Rouge is a buccaneer’s fragrance, soaked in liquors, spices, tobacco, resins and leather. I was hoping for a cheaper version of Givenchy Enflamme, the benchmark perfume for this group of perfumes. Pavillon Rouge is a very good, inexpensive perfume, but pales in comparison to the likes of Enflamme. The perfumer behind this fragrance is Marie Schnirer, whose 21 Conduit St on Jovoy catalog is also noteworthy. This review was written orginally for a sample atomizer from Jovoy. I have now upgraded to a 15 ml bottle, and the review has been updated.

The perfumer lists whisky, rum, spices, sesame, leather, tobacco, coffee, tea, ebony wood, benzoin and vanilla as the key notes on Jovoy’s website. You can sense the leather, spices and sesame in the opening, with hints of whiskey and rum, if you have read these notes in advance. But if you do a blind test, you are more likely to list the opening as a resins and suede with hints of coffee and rum. I am reminded of Dior Vanilla Diorama by the opening alcoholic notes. The heart notes are a continuation of the opening notes, but the tobacco and vanilla are more visible now. The base notes and dry down on my skin are a gentle woody benzoin, leather and vanilla. Overall, it is a nice resinous amber with hints of distilled spirits, but it doesn’t dazzle with its personality.

The performance is not very strong, contrary to my expectation of these notes. It lasts a good 4-6 hours with moderate projection. The sillage is good but modest. It will work fine as an office perfume, but there are better perfumes with better personalities.

Pavillon Rouge is a value purchase if you are in the market for a leathery, resinous amber with gourmand and liquor nuances. The main issue is that there are many excellent perfumes with similar characteristics. My collection alone has at least six other perfumes that play in the same field as Pavillon Rouge, ranging from the cheap Bentley for Men Intense to the ultra-expensive Guerlain Œillet Pourpre. However, don’t hesitate if this is your first foray into leather-tobacco-amber-woody perfumes. If you are unsure of the 100 ml bottle that costs $139, you can opt for the smaller 15 ml bottle for only $39. I recommend it, and I see myself using it frequently. But I also invite you test Givenchy Enflamme for a master class on how to combine tobacco, coffee, resins and vanilla.

Basic Dark
Pavillon Rouge enters in the category of boozy - sweetened tobacco. It reminds me other fragrances like Jazz Club for example which is sweeter, smokier and more aromatic. Here there's a dark leather accord instead and it's more elegant and mysterious. It's still good but it's not mindblowing since I don't find it so original.
Very poor performance for a sweet and dark fragrance one of the weakest in this category.

A warm embrace
These notes are part of my winter comfort zones. A wonderful balance of notes that often cover up the rest in other fragrances— I mean, where there's coffee, I only smell coffee. Where there's leather, I only smell leather, where there's rhum, rhum.
Everything is beautiful here. A smell that gives me an inner calm that I never expected from such accords.
As soon as I sprayed it and also in the drydown reminded me of Zoologist's Chimpunk and Jorum's Spiritcasks. In short, I hope they ring a bells.
Here's the picture I see:
Like having cooked baked cakes all day long in a mountain chalet the equipped with brand-new leather sofas.
BEAUTIFUL (and I know, I'm a boomer!)

The booziness is weak, it's more about tobacco and spices on top of dark leather. Slightly sweet. Not so original but well blended.

I dig everything about this except the sesame top note and the abysmal projection and longevity. The dry down is lovely. A refined Jazz Club

Smoky notes of whiskey, rum and tobacco blend with rich leather and a touch of sweet vanilla for a captivating, woody scent.

A boozy with a sweet twist.
The coffe part is more noticeable in the middle/end.

Smells good, especially the savory/nutty drydown, but rather wimpy... a skin scent after a few hours.

Opens sweet, boozy and spicy with a unique roasted sesame note, evolves into dry realistic maduro tobacco on a leathery base. No sillage.

Days grow dark, the night freezes to ice. Tobacco spice. Resin melt. Sweet warmth. The heart melts with delight and a longing for winter slumber.

Such a great pyramid, I expected more.
Hints of tobacco, tea aroma, vanilla.
A bit boring.

Starts woody and strongly fuzzy, sweet tobacco and spicy leather, ending with a resinous vanilla note. More suited for the cold season. Fine!
