Light and Darkness
‘Nature shines, even when surrounded by darkness.’
Lamar Noir, a highly expected fragrance, is a magnificent fusion of two elements: darkness and light, expressed in olfactory key.
The fruity opening, with light tropical nuances, combines perfectly with more incisive, leathery, woody notes with slightly animalic traits, creating something extremely attractive, magnetic and balanced.
The opening is slightly recalling Lamar, but it soon transforms into a decisive perfume with great personality.
Did I like it? Absolutely yes, it fully reflects my genre and if I can make a prediction it will be very successful.
Absolutely unisex, but I would say that on a woman it highlights her personality and sensuality even more.
A painting that for me embodies what this perfume wants to communicate to us is Caravaggio's ‘La Madonna dei Pellegrini’, read its story, read about the woman portrayed, Lena, who, despite the fact that she could represent and live in darkness in a society that hardly accepted her, became the light-bearer, in an eternal painting that illuminates the heart of anyone who sees it.

A harsh take on "Oud" and leather
I’ve been putting off writing this review because, honestly, I don’t like this scent at all. This is one of the worst releases of the past year.

I don’t have the original Lamar on hand to compare them side by side, so I’ll focus solely on this scent.

Lamar Noir opens with an extremely synthetic and conventional oud accord that doesn’t smell like oud at all, not even western Oud. The other dominant note is leather, which comes across as dry and sterile, lacking the depth and multidimensionality leather usually offers. It doesn’t seem to be built with the raw materials that typically enhance and recreate the natural aroma of leather - such as birch tar, labdanum, styrax, cade oil, castoreum, or cypriol. Guaiac wood is present, but it only contributes to the same dry, slightly smoky quality mentioned above, and I don’t find this interpretation of leather pleasant at all.

Lamar is a fruity scent, and judging by the name Lamar Noir , one would expect a darker or “black” version of that profile. However, it's "black" but all fruitiness is missing from the start. I can’t detect any tropical notes or Apple, nor do I perceive any floral elements. The scent could have been slightly redeemed with caramel or Vanilla, but these notes either haven’t been used or were intentionally avoided, as there is virtually no sweetness present. I’m also puzzled by claims of animalic facets: if anything, that impression may come from the unpleasant synthetic oud, which is far from how oud can be crafted properly—or perhaps it’s simply the overall sense of harshness.

Lamar Noir is a purely woody scent and nothing more: a synthetic, extremely linear woody leather composition. I’m very surprised by the high rating it has received. I’d also like to clarify that I enjoy very masculine fragrances, as well as compositions where leather and/or oud dominate, so my opinion isn’t based on those elements alone. I also wouldn’t want to smell this on my husband’s skin, where the entire aroma I’ve described becomes even more pronounced than on my own.

In conclusion, Lamar Noir feels like a missed opportunity and a disappointing reinterpretation of the original concept. Rather than offering a darker, richer, or more complex take on Lamar, it delivers a flat, synthetic, and uninspired woody-leather composition that lacks character and balance. For those expecting depth, nuance, or a refined oud-leather experience, this fragrance is unlikely to satisfy.

Thank you for reading, I hope you liked my review.

Lamar for Men?!
I have become a bit of a Kajal fan and this fragrance prompts me to write my first review.

- First creation by perfumer Patrick Müller, first
review by Batrick88, fits perfectly.

The scent is very multifaceted for me, there are some notes that repeatedly come to the forefront and replace others.
At the beginning, Lamar Noir starts with a fresh, crisp green apple and rose.
After a few seconds, leather joins in, this leather note accompanies the fragrance throughout its duration.

As the fragrance develops, the apple gives way to a pineapple, this pineapple note combined with the roses then for me also bridges to Lamar. Because the Noir is supposed to be, probably, a flanker.
Around the same time, a smokiness and a sweet caramel note come in, almost as if you were grilling the pineapple over charcoal, I really like that.

In the fragrance pyramid, oud can also be found and yes, the animalic aspect is there. I haven't had such good experiences with oud so far, but here oud is very beautifully integrated and wonderfully enhances the fragrance.

With the hours, the scent becomes increasingly balsamic - woody. The caramel note remains present and our burnt pineapple is almost gone by now.

Longevity is extremely long on my skin, easily 12h+. Sillage is also very strong.
To return to my headline: On parfumo, Lamar is listed as a women's fragrance, but I also enjoy wearing it myself. Perhaps Kajal wanted to create a men's version of their successful fragrance here and they have succeeded. I would say Lamar Noir leans more towards men.
But I can also very well imagine it on a woman.
Thank you for reading.

Leather-Oriental Beast with a Touch of Fruit & Spice
Kajal is already one of my absolute favorite brands. I like this not too large selection, and these fragrances are truly lovingly created and not just mindlessly mass-produced like some other brands handle it. What I particularly like about this brand: These wonderful fruity and also partly exotic notes. This brand is more known for tame creations, which, however, mostly radiate quite intensely. With this Lamar Noir, this brand takes a different approach with a rough oriental vibe and a lot of leather. A great idea since this was missing from the brand's lineup. With this genre, you can definitely capture some attention, and even in times of Oud Maracuja and its hype, this is not a bad move. Of course, I couldn't resist ordering a small sample to test this fragrance. I'm not the biggest fan of orientals, but in a broad collection and with a versatile taste, you can also test such fragrances well.
The price-performance ratio of this brand is really good. 240€ for 100ml is not cheap, but if you are patient, you can get many for significantly less. Since this is a new release, you probably have to wait a bit longer, but there will surely be more to come.

This is officially a flanker of Lamar. I can say upfront that this has nothing to do with the pineapple DNA and is completely independent.
The bottle is the same as the original, here naturally kept in black to match the name. The bottles are always eye-catching, and these caps are beautiful. True to the name, you get a rather dark fragrance with a lot of leather and oriental notes. This relatively large pyramid is well pronounced, and these many notes make it a bit more complex. A mix of challenge and pleasing DNA.
To give a few examples of the direction it takes: If you like fragrances like Falcon Leather, Oud Maracuja, Scirocco, or roughly Ombre Nomade, you might warm up to this scent. The opening is already a bit challenging with a rather animalistic oud note. This quickly settles down, revealing a wonderful mix of oriental oud and pleasing leather. Fruits come into play: Apple and slightly exotic fruits like passion fruit create a great mix, as is somewhat trendy now. Sweet notes like vanilla and caramel also soften this creation. An oriental rose and a very soft balsamic note provide a great contrast to these strong oriental notes. In the base, you find many warm notes like amber and a multifaceted wood note. The base is already soft, and the drydown ends warm and sensual. Quite rounded, aside from those challenging first 30 minutes. I'm not the biggest fan of leather and orientals, but this fragrance simply strikes me as exciting and very special. Unlike this soft fruity original, it is certainly more of a scent that will appeal to men. However, that doesn't mean it's not for women.
Performance is predictably fantastic. High-quality fragrance notes have been used here, and it impresses with great sillage. Perfect for outdoor and large spaces. The longevity exceeds 10 hours, of course.

In conclusion, I can say: This brand is reliable. Fragrance and performance are, as always, damn good, and a test is worth it if you celebrate this fragrance direction.

I'm going with my…
… dog hiking at the edge of the forest. I'm wearing my old leather jacket, which I love. Typical man. It has its own old leather smell. The little one happily sniffs at the various flowers and trees that are everywhere here, some of which are just tree trunks lying around. Plus the moss. We take a little break, and I get a bowl and water from the backpack for my companion. I fill the bowl with water and place the can of dry food next to it, in case she's hungry. I take another can and open it; it contains strips of apple, pineapple, and mango. My little four-legged friend is more interested in the fruit than her food. You have a piece of mango; the other one is too sour for you anyway.

When applying this fragrance, the first thing you notice is a citrusy green fruity slightly sweet scent with a hint of floral. What is clearly perceptible from the very beginning is the leather. There’s also a balsamic undertone mixed in, along with a rose and vanilla twist. The scent becomes maturely masculine through resinous, woody, green, and mossy notes, acquiring an animalistic accent. This perfume later dries down to a powdery elegance.

The longevity and sillage are very good.

Here we have a fragrance from KAJAL, which is actually launched as unisex. However, due to its masculine animalistic charm, I see it more suited for men than for women. As for the entry age, I would say from the late twenties onwards. Of course, ladies, do try this fragrance for yourselves; maybe it’s exactly what you are looking for. For my nose, this is again an all-rounder. With light application, it can be worn during the day for any occasion, just as well as in the evening. However, be careful; you will stand out with this fragrance due to its edges and facets.

If you enjoy an initially citrusy green fruity slightly sweet scent with a floral twist that then transforms into a masculine animalistic balsamic resinous woody green mossy leather-rose-vanilla fragrance and can handle that this perfume has edges and facets, you will be well accommodated here. I personally find the bottle very beautiful, and the price is acceptable.

I never get complimented on my perfume but I got 2 yesterday wearing this. Either they liked or I’d over-sprayed (which I definitely had)

A hint of Ombre Nomade with a bit more wood in the foreground and a caramel sweetness in the background, as well as the leather, nice.

A motorcycle ride and now a break, sitting on a log and savoring a bite of the apple. Floral scents waft in from the nearby meadow.
