Again no bull's eye from Kilian
L'Heure Verte I tested yesterday after the bottling has been lying around for a few days with me, because Apple Brandy on the Rocks had simply aroused more my interest. Absinthe I find has a very interesting smell therefore I was even more excited about what L'Heure Verte has to offer.
L'Heure Verte I would now not really describe as an absinthe fragrance. The absinthe note is much weaker than the fragrance pyramid tries to show one. It is a herbal cocktail as Thomas1032 has already aptly described. But I would add here that we are dealing with a sweet cocktail. The name L'Heure Verte is not really suitable for me, because the sweetness is clearly in the foreground and later even the green note is slightly pushed into the background. I don't really like that, unfortunately. A green fragrance with a strong absinthe note would have pleased me much better.
The following notes I can recognize: Absinthe which weakens very quickly, patchouli rather gentle, sweet woods and of it for me clearly too much of a good thing, sandalwood is also gently perceived, a green note by the violet leaf.
This sweet / green combination also results for me a fragrance that goes very much in the direction of mainstream, which unfortunately I do not like so much in a Kilian. For the OVP price, there are clearly better fragrances.
My personal opinion is even that I find L'Heure Verte boring it just comes up no feeling with me that I need here necessarily a flacon. Unfortunately, this trend continues increasingly with Kilian. The LIQUORS COLLECTION I feel unfortunately rather weak apart from Angels Share, also the thought of liqueurs is not understandable for me here.
The flacon seems to me unfortunately not high quality. The lid of plastic is simply not matching the rest.
The shelf life I find good with something over 8 hours. The silage is also good and remains for 5-6 hours at an arm's length to be perceived, then L'Heure Verte is quickly skin.
