Smoky vanilla woods
Despite the name, this is less an oud scent than a woody vanilla scent. Anyone expecting a powerful pure oud will be disappointed. However this is worth considering if you’re looking for a cozy wood scent for fall/winter.
I usually stay away from vanilla forward fragrances but this is not too sweet. There’s more warmth than sweetness here, and there’s a hint of leather and more than a trace of smoke throughout. It’s beautifully nuanced simplicity and I can see this layering well.
If you’ve been disappointed by the mixed performances of L’Artisan releases in the last 10 years, the longevity on this is excellent, reliably lasts 12+ hours on my skin.
