Department store niches
It's about time I praised the department store chain Karstadt.
I find there not only fashionable clothes that are affordable, but one offered me there fragrances that I did not see even in my well-stocked niche perfumery.
Bronnley, Camuto, Smith, Berdoues, Schiapiarelli - all previously unknown to me - which was a gap in my knowledge.
And so today I found myself standing in front of a shelf of L atelier des Bois de Grasse.
Of course I had to try - and my nose got caught on the rose of this label.
In the beginning, it's just a bud, but it's in full bloom in time.
The wood tone to it reminds me of childhood days, sitting on the wooden bench in the front yard, looking out at the magnificent rose rondel my grandfather had created.
The full sweet citrus fragrance wafted generously around me - and I forgot about time .
From time to time passers-by stopped, and also feasted their eyes on this sight, and also treated themselves to " a nibble " of rose fragrance that floated softly in the air.
Vanilla and sandal envelop the rose Bois de Gaiac gently sweetish - and unseifig.
The fragrance seems creamy and calm - and romantic.
It's old school in a very likeable way - just the way I like it.
It warms my heart - and the memories of my grandparents' beautiful garden echo in me for a long time.
Since the buyer of Karstadt has made me once again a pleasure - at a fabulously low price.
I will also treat myself to the other fragrances of this label.
