When the ears sway gently in the summer wind!

So far, I haven't paid much attention to poppies. They are indeed the vibrant red splashes of color that provide variety in the grain fields during summer - my favorite season. But that was about it.

However, this attitude has fundamentally changed!

When purchasing Tiarè, I received a sample of the Papavero body cream among other things. I didn't expect much from poppy flowers and the like, and since I wanted to save the other samples (hydrangea and rose) a bit, I used this sample that very evening.

What can I say! The next day, I bought Papavero. The body cream was already so beautiful, and the Eau de Parfum convinced me immediately.

The scent is very delicate, floral, and fine. I can't identify individual notes. Over time, the perfume becomes a bit sweeter. The plum and jasmine might be responsible for that. The fragrance becomes slightly woodier and warmer. Everything remains very delicate, fine, and subtle. The longevity is very good.

I don't even have to close my eyes for this. Papavero is simply the splendor of summer!

I ride my bike - a balmy summer evening - past meadows and grain fields. The sun is already low. Still, the ears shine golden. Cornflowers and the bright red poppies are a welcome change for the eye.
I park my bike because I want to enjoy this moment. The crickets chirp, the leaves and ears rustle very softly. Everything else is quiet. I take a deep breath to absorb it all.

Warm and calm, delicate and fine, floral and spicy - that is summer - that is Papavero.
The fragrance notes listed on the outer box are:
Extract of poppy flowers, Davana, jasmine, plum, ylang-ylang, lilac, sandalwood, and patchouli.

Dear Inger, your comments are just amazing and spot on. I bought this perfume and **Frutto della Passione** blindly based on your scent analyses, and both match your beautiful descriptions perfectly. Thank you!

So beautifully described, it makes me long for summer. I'll post a photo in my album here on Parfumo when the poppies bloom in Greece. There are entire fields that are bright red. A trophy for that!

What a beautifully written comment. You've just given me a bit of summer in the middle of winter, or rather, the anticipation of it. Thank you so much for that, dear Inger. It was about time you paid more attention to the lovely poppy... ;)

Wow - you really know how to pique someone's curiosity. And thanks for the comment, because I really love the scent of poppies, and without your comment, I would have overlooked that this is a poppy fragrance. Thank you so much! (o:

Oh, so beautiful. I'm in too. Poppy flowers are my favorite flowers. I have to test it even though the sillage isn't that strong.

Ah - what I would give for summer to finally be here again! I'm afraid I'll have to get through the wait with a little Papavero... Always with the temptation, though, ;-)!
