Papavero Soave L'Erbolario 2011

How does the color red smell?
Describing Papavero is difficult for me. First of all, the red color of the bottle is a clear indication for me; this scent is definitely red. Dark red. It is also passionate, heavy (not in the sense of being overwhelming, but rather 'deep' and 'dark'), fruity, sweet, and sensual. I find the poppy note is well done - perhaps not entirely natural, but also not directly artificial.
Personally, I’m not a big fan of the prominent Davana note, but for anyone who loves Davana, Papavero should be a celebration. Like all L'Erbolario fragrances, Papavero completely bypasses the mainstream. This house seems to simply not care about what else is on the market - they do their own thing, resulting in scents with an extremely high recognition value that are completely timeless.
What kind of woman wears Papavero... I would say one who is as sensual and passionate as the fragrance. Since I find it quite special, the woman who wears it can also be special - with edges and corners and a distinctive character. I think Papavero is well-suited for going out, but perhaps not so much for the office. The sillage is okay, but not overly strong, while the longevity is very good, lasting around 10 hours on me.
Conclusion: L'Erbolario has done it well once again!

A nice forum member gifted me a sample of this fragrance. Just like this comment, I find the Papavero to be... fruity, sweet, and sensual. For my nose, the jasmine lingers more in the base.
