Jungle Queen
When I first smelled the fragrance months ago, the cognac stood out to me immediately. Today, it is a note that feels foreign to me. I suspect it's the tiger lotus. It is also used in "Forbidden Love | La Fleur by Livvy," but I couldn't identify it there because it was unfamiliar. Here, it strikes me as richly green, a bit animalistic, but also synthetic, not discreet, but taking center stage, yet grounded by vetiver, which adds a fine nutty note. Tonka provides a delicate sweetness that successfully captures the synthetic aspect. The cognac note is also well integrated. Altogether, it creates a strong floral impression.
I read that tiger lotus is an aquarium plant. However, I don't see an aquarium, but rather a jungle clearing with an opulent flower that attracts insects with its heavy, slightly decaying scent. The fragrance develops a soapy quality on my skin, similar to "Forbidden Love | La Fleur by Livvy," where the synthetic tones fade away, but the animalic aspect remains. I envision a magnificent mauve-colored large flower with a fabric-like velvety texture and a peculiar yet alluring scent.
La Fleur by Livvy is an American house that I have the pleasure of testing thanks to @FrauKirsche. I like five out of the six fragrances that I was able to test.
