We are not used to criticizing Ellena's fragrances. His Mandarino is simply brilliant; I had to decant it constantly for all the enthusiasts. Arancia Rossa is also wonderful, perhaps a bit more challenging to wear, but certainly beautiful. When Limone arrived, I initially thought I had received a counterfeit. An extra ordered decant showed me that Limone is indeed very close to Grandpa's Eau de Cologne, and over time I finally reconciled with it and wore it a bit in the summer.
And today Bergamotto has arrived. The disappointment has taken on new dimensions. The scent is somehow weak, characterless, and neutral in the bad sense of the word. Should I try it a few more times? Wait for the next summer? Order a decant of it as well? Read positive reviews and let myself be convinced that it is a masterpiece? Or should I simply consider the possibility that the great Ellena also has the right to a mediocre fragrance?
And of course, the open question remains whether I should still try to get to know his "Pompelmo | Laboratorio Olfattivo." So far, the trend has been declining... but should the fifth citrus perfume necessarily be number 5?
