Green disappointment
Unfortunately, I can't get out of my skin: Some key stimuli simply appeal to me and I am the willing victim. So there are some scent houses, which I liked very much umpteen years ago, they can still disappoint me so often, I test their scents again and again, all of them, without exception. Some bottles have a language of form, proportions, curves, edges, buttons, which I simply have to take in my hand. Also some colours stand out from the sea of the usual flacons in such a way that I simply have to test them. So also the fragrance tested here "Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 pour Lui Eau Fraîche."
Apart from the fact that one can hardly remember the name in the correct order, as a Latin I also have a little trouble with the pronunciation. Nevertheless, I should have my French colleague study it for me and test whether the inclined perfumery saleswomen can also understand this and assign it accordingly if I should ask about this fragrance. Sorry, I'm starting to get vicious again.
Anyway, there's a new Lacoste scent on the shelf, that's where I need to go. In the brand-new 30 metre long shelf wall of the brand-new Müller branch, it is the only bottle in the juicy, fresh green of an Oma-Schmidt apple - the so-called for attention. The L.12.12 flacon, which has been known for years, has not changed, the hand-cradlelier wanders into my hand as if attracted by a tractor beam.
Let's approach the fragrance from the bottle. Packed in an embossed green-white cardboard, which takes up the structure of the pique fabric from the polo, provided with simple, but nevertheless expressive imprint. The bottle is the well-known rounded square of the L.12.12 series, on the sides also again with the Pique structure. It is opaque, with a green-white colour gradient, solid and heavy. Lies pleasant and handy in the hand, so I like it. The only ornament is the famous crocodile. Beneath the simple Knöppke a good spray head that does its job precisely and beautifully dosed. That's what a bottle must be like. I know I'm repeating myself, but it's still all true. From these external values once again everything was done correctly.
The disillusionment follows as so often on the foot. Once again, the contents don't live up to what the bottle promises. The name prophesies it, it's a fresh scent. Unfortunately, it is a freshness that we know from the entire range of the household goods department, from detergents and window cleaners to particularly thorough disinfectants for seat ceramics. And I dare to say that at a blind tasting no one from the development, production, marketing and sales departments of Lacoste and Coty would be able to sniff out a difference.
The fragrance mentioned here smells fresh of all kinds of citrus fruits and also has an impression that we love and hate at the same time as an aquatic note, but unfortunately in an already hundredfold smelled arbitrary combination that conveys nothing, but also nothing new. Further aromas or notes unfortunately do not find their way into my nose. Maybe it's only because my nose was already overtaxed, because the impression of a cleaning agent with its synthetic-alcoholic character comes to the fore. It is penetrating and superimposes everything beautiful that was perhaps once thought of for the fragrance. The fragrance experience is not beautiful for me, not a bit pleasant, but creates the urge to wash.
In the beginning the scent is strong, strict, but the Putzi note fades quickly. What remains is an indefinable citrus aroma that has disappeared beyond recognition even after about two hours. For me, this is not a satisfying performance, neither in terms of durability, nor in terms of fragrance. I'm a little perplexed, as I can't think of a target group to whom I would like to recommend the fragrance. I'm not even sure if you're doing yourself and your environment a favor if you want to wear this fragrance for your 90 minutes workout in the gym.
All in all "Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 pour Lui Eau Fraîche" is for me a big disappointment. Apart from the beautiful, colourful bottle, I can't find anything great about the fragrance. I say goodbye with the question whether somebody would not like to leave me his emptied bottle at some point, because I believe that the bottle would do well, as a spot of colour between all my other bottles
