Gaga goes granny
Astonishingly well-behaved. First, green notes and citrus (lime) create the impression of a classic Unisex Eau. The basic melody is then formed by strong accords of bitter, woody notes (not as leathery as you'd expect when reading the pyramide). What emerges is an accomplished, assured yet alluring new take on the "Eau", not reminiscent of the first "Lady Gaga" with all its laughter and scintillation, but designed for the older clientele. "Eau de Gaga" is much better than I expected with its bitter, dark aura of greenage. It makes me feel like dancing, not wildly, of course, but elegantly. "Gaga" goes granny.

Citrus and Leather Surprisingly Sensual
Classic-shaped bottle for a unisex fragrance. Four sprays stayed a moderate sillage scent; the initial burst of lime continues thru until the switch to leather and woods keeping the top strong; within an hour Gaga leaned more masculine than feminine; all of the notes are discernible and make their statement. It's earthy with a classic worn leather scent leaning against a polished bar built entirely of real wood.
This feels as if you're either wearing you're wearing a man's shirt and his cologne has worn off on you or you've layed in his arms all night and you are now wearing his fragrance.
The lime disappears in two hours and the woods and leather begin to dominate comfortably for a few more hours. Lady Gaga 001 is calm and aromatic, it's innocently seductive. Worn by a woman, perhaps more of a surprise and on the sensual side because of its masculinity. I can see this either on a rainy day or wearing that LBD as a surprisingly sensual perfume.
Kudos to Gaga for putting out a unisex scent in a great bottle at an affordable price for the masses. It addictively grows on you with its refreshing simplicity that's comforting and doesn't scream testosterone in a man's cologne. The leather and woods are quiet, subdued, earthy and classic. They remind me of the arms of a man who rolls up the sleeves of his Oxford-button-down just past his wrist; his watch hanging low. He never wears short-sleeve shirts.
This grew on me and I've reached for it often. Considering my arsenal, that says alot. Lady Gaga 001 is mature underlying seduction in a bottle, the type of beguilement that is more entrancement in an understated way.

Eau de Gaga
Lady Gaga seems hell bent on confusing all of us. Her first go-around in the world of scent (Fame, which was released in 2012) seemed docile compared to her public image. It was shocking in that it was not shocking at all. I believe most people were expecting something dark and mysterious and when we were given something completely opposite, it left people scratching their heads in wonder. Even though I liked "Fame", it seemed like a tame outing for someone as eccentric as Lady Gaga. Fast-forward to 2014 and the release of her second perfume, Eau de Gaga. Again, I feel like we are left scratching our heads for a second time, wondering if a perfume will ever be released that will represent Lady Gaga's public persona. I do like Eau de Gaga but it seems far removed from the image of Lady Gaga that I perceive her to be. This perfume is very "green." It reminds me of cut grass on a spring day. Years ago, I used to really like The Healing Garden products. They had one scent that was called Green Teatherapy. I used to like their body wash in that scent and for whatever reason, Eau de Gaga reminds me of it. It's not a bad thing but I was expecting something a little more Gaga-esque. I'm not disappointed but I keep finding myself wanting something more from her. Maybe the joke's on us. Maybe she wants her scents to show that she's a lot more than what her public image boasts. Maybe she's trying to show that she's not just the woman we see on the stage, that she has many different sides to herself and one way of expressing that is through her perfumes. One thing is for sure, she continues to shock us with her perfume releases, just not in the way one would expect. Lady Gaga seems to be more of an enigma than one would think and Eau de Gaga along with Fame, prove that theory. Eau de Gaga seems hard to find (in my city anyway.) I looked high and low for this fragrance but couldn't find it anywhere. Every store had Fame but not Eau de Gaga. It wasn't until stores starting putting out their boxed fragrance sets for the holiday season that I was finally able to find a 50ml. bottle of it along with a bottle of matching shower gel for 59 dollars, plus tax. Happy to have it, glad I tried it but it's not destined to be one of my must-have favourites.

original sympathy carrier
Lady Gaga is not necessarily a sympathetic figure for me - but she is undoubtedly original.

The fragrance also possesses originality - and is simultaneously likable.
The ingredients are well chosen and skillfully harmonized, creating a pleasant "olfactory experience".

The lime is sharply citrusy and awakens the spirits of life.
Sweet and slightly bitter, the violet joins in.
The soft leather note is the unisex factor in the fragrance - and at the same time, it brings exclusivity.

A scent that "has something up its sleeve" - I think of "Po Po Po Pokerface", because eau de Gaga is "oho".
It doesn't reveal its cards immediately.
More complex than the manageable ingredients might suggest.
This slight androgyny makes it all the more interesting.

A fragrance that should not be underestimated - because it makes its own statement and has an ace up its sleeve.

Hang in there!
Lime. Everyone says. Where exactly? Did you quickly clean the toilet before the scent test?

Tea. Green or black, the posse is divided. But it doesn't matter, both are wrong, because tea is not in here. It says so. Well, it doesn’t. It’s not in there. Associations in that direction suggest that you are that one refined, little finger-spreading tea drinker that you are not, and you just love cleaning toilets. So far, so good. But that doesn’t help us. Okay, then I want to tell you, once again, that you all, as so often, with your far-fetched syntheses are really, baby-powdered, on the wrong track.

Okay, leather and violet. One wouldn’t have expected that. First of all, that this is supposed to be a celebrity scent from the aforementioned lady, and that it smells neither sweet nor of leather and violet.
But what does it smell like then? Hmm. Maybe somewhat leathery, but just a little. A little leathery. Merely adverse? No. Shoelace-like. Leather shoelaces IN a nicely dusty corrugated cardboard box whose corrugated dustiness is hard to surpass in cardboardiness. Violet only lingers as a violet. Shoelaces plus violet result in quite a mess, which, however, smells really great in the end. (I have indicated Cuirs by Lancome as a scent twin, if you could all please click +1 on that, that would be very good).

AND NOW IT COMES! Only those who endure the drydown-on-the-next-sleepy-morning-still-fine-long-term-test experience a muskiness so musky that it has been washed.
But in our hectic, fast-paced times, hardly anyone can endure that anymore.

A surprisingly soft, fresh & subtle lime scent, with a (thankfully for me) only light leather accord, it's hard to dislike, great longevity!

This is my absolute goto frag for a scorching hot summer's day at the office. Never dull but never too much even on the hottest day.

I wish I could like this, but the lime note isn't good. I got a pre-owned bottle. It smells like spoiled lime juice or brown lime wedges

Juilliard School, not a multipurpose arena!
More Chopin than pop
Subtle violet-hay-leather fougère
A bit muffled and hazy.
Wearable for all & everyday.
