Jeanne Lanvin Couture Lanvin 2012

I only smelled purple yesterday when I tested this women's perfume from my girlfriend's women's advent calendar...absolutely suitable only for women^^. Very feminine, classic, flower-dominated. Probably the violets combined with a hint of raspberry, which is less to my liking, combined - that must evoke the color purple in my mind! And I had this association even before seeing the extremely exquisite bottle - which is fittingly purple :)

Floral scents are encountered at every corner on the journey through the world of women's perfumes, sometimes intrusive, sometimes reserved - but it seems almost impossible to do without them at the moment. Flowers are classically beautiful, and here the combination of violet/rose/magnolia is also leaning towards the aggressive side. Yesterday, the sillage was quite strong for me; I think the elevator I took must have smelled purple for quite some time ;-)

The bottle is magnificent as mentioned; I was convinced of that in the store. The longevity is long, at least 8 hours for me. But we are already at the bigger catch that deducts many percentage points: the last 2 hours! They suddenly hardly smell of the full-bodied, expansive purple flower anymore, but rather the cedar and a hint of musk suddenly take over - and that almost makes me feel sick. I found the base note inappropriate, woody, bitter, unpleasant. Unfortunately, a contrast to the previously experienced.

Overall, a mediocre scent that stands out in places from the broad floral mass/competition, both positively and negatively!

....and test all these fruity-floral waters? Or is it enough to just
lump them all together and call it good?
Having already encountered "La Vie est Belle" and "La Petite Robe Noire" (2012), which I don't necessarily need in my collection, I want to introduce you to this fragrance in more detail.

I didn't expect much from Jeanne Lanvin Couture, sprayed it on, and waited for the fruit bombs to hit me. But nothing of the sort happened. It was fresh, floral, slightly spicy, and woody as well. Okay, I think I perceive a little fruitiness, but it could also come from a pear or lychee. Either my skin refused to absorb the fruits, or maybe there aren't any in there at all, that would be something.
I don't need to recite the notes to you; you can read them yourself. But I have to chuckle a bit about the watery notes; did the perfumer have something in mind? I think, probably not.
But that's okay, the scent is still good.*g*

Couture develops more floral than fruity on me, but I'm not at all upset about that. It comes across as a bit elegant and very feminine, becoming increasingly beautiful and woody, and not too sweet since there's no vanilla in it. All the Jeanne Lanvin fragrances are quite similar in that regard-fine, feminine, stylish, and rather understated.
But don't worry, this fragrance does have a certain presence; otherwise, I wouldn't like it at all.

If you're looking for a nice wearable "Here I am" scent that doesn't stand out too much, this one is perfect. Still, I received a compliment right away, asking what I was wearing?!
An adult scent, yet not old-fashioned, for women who want to be cheerfully, buoyantly, and casually accompanied through their day. What more could you want? Couture is very similar to Tresor Midnight Rose, only the Tresor scent is more vanilla and slightly fruitier.

You really need to go test this one out because I can't quite understand the 61% rating up there. But everyone has their own taste.
You'll see, in a month, at least two users will own it because I will definitely be ordering it too.*g*

The introduction may be a bit harsh, but something like "Lanvin Couture" has definitely never happened to me before...
Our meeting was practically love at first sight. After the first spray, I thought this would definitely be a berry scent that I would like. Furthermore, I had the impression that the raspberry in the fragrance pyramid kept changing, which is why I was just sniffing at my wrist. It’s best compared to a guy you’re getting to know. At first, he’s sweet, nice, unobtrusive, and fresh, as if you’re just getting closer while stealing berries together. Then you meet at home, and from the harvest, you make jam. However, he doesn’t experiment with it. He loves it down-to-earth and without frills. No spices or other fruits. Just the one pure fruit. Since men rarely take advice, the first attempt at making jam isn’t very successful. It’s way too thin. But Mc Dreamy has an idea. He mixes us a cocktail, of which the resulting pink syrup is a component. Of course, not the one from the low price segment, but rather the one from Monin. Now the fruit spread is ready, and we want to try it. What could be better with it than warm waffles and a scoop of vanilla ice cream? All in all, a successful day. We realize that we like each other and decide to meet again very soon. Therefore, the 50ml can move in with me right away. We meet a few more times, but it’s always the same, the same routine every time. The guy tries to put in effort, but he can’t surprise me anymore. After a week, he just bores me. Even my friend looked at me questioningly when I introduced her to my new one. When I showed him to my family and took him to Sunday dinner, my brothers only asked if it was the dessert that presented itself as rotten fruit. I started to feel less and less comfortable with him. I quickly broke up and banished him to the back row of my exes. Occasionally we still see each other, as we have mutual acquaintances. But then I don’t pay attention to him. By now, I’m ashamed of this guy without innovation. He’s not ugly at all, rather a real cutie. He couldn’t be himself and always wanted to please me, to play it safe. He’s a Gandhi and everybody’s darling. Unfortunately, perfection is incredibly boring. And that’s why we don’t match.

I haven't commented on this fragrance from my collection yet. It's about time.

The bottle is wonderfully simple, square, purple. With a heavy silver cap and a little ribbon.
It feels great in the hand with 50 ml.
The spray nozzle disperses well and delivers a decent amount.
1-2 sprays are enough for me personally. The sillage is strong at first, but then settles into an average range. With multiple sprays, it will surely become overpowering quickly.
The longevity is good, lasting up to 4-5 hours on me, much longer on clothing. Still detectable on a scarf for days.

There is a similarity to Tresor's Midnight Rose, with fruity notes of raspberry and also some bitter notes of cedar.
Personally, I find Tresor's Midnight Rose to be significantly more bitter-smoky than this lovely fragrance from Lanvin.
Because alongside the fruity fresh raspberries, there are also - I’ll call them watery notes. - Similar to a refreshing cooling drink in summer. Bright, clear, not aquatic but raspberry-fresh-watery. Very nice. I think this note comes from the violet leaf, watery like fresh dew.
However, to prevent the fragrance from drifting into purely fruity territory, some bitter notes come into play, where I primarily smell cedar, right alongside the raspberries from the very beginning.

I would classify it as a cool, adult, fruity-bitter fragrance.
I like it very much, but I fear it is gradually disappearing from the shelves and also from online shops. It is no longer found everywhere, and in some shops, it is being sold off in bulk packages.
Such a shame, but that way I can stock up.

..and indeed from my "friend" Ulric de Varens, soon, soon this pounding headache will strike me again…help, what is wrong here??

Once again I grab the packaging and ponder, violet…hm…no it’s no use I have to check which “Mini” is trying to impose itself in my mind because of this scent - violet or turquoise - and I hold on for now...

Due to the color, I immediately suspected “Mini Sexy,” but when I look through the notes, it seems more like “Mini Pretty” (synthetic raspberry, a horror) and now I know exactly again why I let these two, the only ones I ever bought in exuberance and not just tested at Rossi, go to a dear bottle collector-perfumer…(although the bottles are not exactly among the most attractive, but well…).

For me, this scent absolutely does not work. The good thing is that it quickly loses some of its strength, a bit as I said, and hope for quick relief begins to sprout...It surely won’t “stick” to me for too long, this “sweetie,” but it won’t anyway, because even while I’m writing this comment and have to keep sniffing, I know that I simply do not want to say anything about the longevity, because I get a headache, albeit not as hastily as with the aforementioned scents from my “friend” Ulric, but still, it will and therefore… I’ll go wash my arm, be right back….

At first, I thought it was easy to remove, but not so much after all. So weakened, it’s almost bearable....man, not me!

I would definitely not recommend wearing it during the warm months, unless you really want to attract a swarm of bees or wasps (although: do they go for synthetic scents…?), because it is very raspberry-like, extremely sticky sweet and really more suitable for the over 25 target group.

From the plum, which I actually love very much, I can’t smell anything here (not to mention everything else that is listed) and even the cedar is fighting a losing battle here, too bad, because it might have saved something, but as it stands, it is unbearable for me - in two ways…

So: Who wants to go again, who hasn’t yet…? Just no hesitation, I’m happy to decant ;-)
