Eau Gourmande - Crème de Pistache Laura Mercier 2010

Gourmand of the Highest Class
Créme de Pistache is a very noble gourmand that boasts an impressive sillage and long-lasting wear. Right from the first spray, a heavenly and wonderful pistachio scent fills the nose, combined with a fine almond aroma. The fresh bergamot is only faintly detectable. However, this takes away some of the heaviness from the fragrance.
Hazelnut and chocolate complete the heart note of this gourmand masterpiece, which still does not come across as extremely "punchy" or too sweet. This enchanting scent is rounded off with a hint of vanilla, a touch of (sandal)wood, and a dash of patchouli.
For anyone who finds Mugler's "Angel" too extreme, it's definitely worth giving this a try.
A certain similarity can be recognized, but Créme de Pistache is significantly more elegant and subtle than Mugler's gourmand blockbuster ;)

I find that when it comes to longevity, it unfortunately doesn't hold up. And the drydown of Angel after - I don't know, 20 hours - is delicious. I also miss the patchouli. But you have to experience that gourmand bomb at the beginning.

That sounds delicious, adding it to my wishlist. Just need to resist rushing to the candy cabinet now.

Hmmm... *thinking* ... I actually don't need any more gourmands in my collection... but pistachio AND hazelnut! That's a strong argument. Thanks! *adding to my list*
