Escale en Haïti Les Indémodables 2020

Bright, fresh, grassy vetiver and fresh pepper to open with resinous myrrh, juniper, and tonka.

Spring and summer seasonal. Leans slightly masculine. Matches occasions of daily leisure and safe for office use. Below average performance and average sillage.

A really nice combination of fresh vetiver with complimenting balsamic sweetness and spice. Pleasant but this evaporates down to a close skin scent extremely quickly which is a disappointment.

Personal Notes: Fresh bergamot and lemon opening, then rooty, earthy vetiver takes over. Has a melancholic, dark, slightly balsamic quality to it. The vibe is interesting but poor performance kill it. It becomes a skin scent FAST. But while it's there it's quite pleasant.

Rating: 6 - A borderline "like". If this had a couple more problems I would actively dislike it, but it's tolerable.

Who it's for: Hard to say. It's effervescent and pleasant but to my nose nothing crazy. Anyone can wear it for the short time it sticks around.

Value for full bottle: No. Poor value given performance vs. price.

Such a lovely surprise. My Les Indémodables sample set has introduced me to some stunning fragrances I would not have sought out on their own, and Escale en Haïti is one. This vetiver is airy and a little spicy, and the pepper, myrrh, and juniper are a gorgeous blend. Unfortunately, there's not much staying power here, and it quickly dries down to a musky, powdery Tonka. A classic fresh masculine scent with high quality naturals.
