Light Spiciness
Atao is clearly a fragrance for men. I mostly smell rosemary. Sometimes the vanilla hits me in a very pleasant way. I can't detect jasmine, patchouli, and neroli; maybe later? Or they have blended into the overall composition so well that they form a unity. The citrus notes do not stand out as much as in many other men's fragrances. The overall composition is definitely pleasant, light, spicy but not intrusive, like all the Lostmarc'h fragrances I have tested so far. Lostmarc'h overall seems to be made for fragrance lovers who do not want to overwhelm their surroundings with the perfume they wear. I would love to smell this fragrance on my husband. I can't comment on longevity yet. Addendum: To avoid misunderstandings, I would like to add that the citrus notes are clearly noticeable at the beginning, but that does not last.

Always Stay Like This
I have been using Atao quite frequently lately because it simply always fits and never annoys me. Atao has a rather conservative structure, but its blend of citrus-fruity and spicy-woody notes is perfectly crafted. It somewhat reminds me of the wonderful Lalique pour Homme, but Atao is lighter, fresher, quieter, and less complex than that. Nevertheless, it still has enough power and longevity for me, especially when sprayed on a T-shirt, as I prefer to wear Atao in the summer.

Sammy :-)

The Sneaker
Atao is a very delicious, but unfortunately a very quiet fragrance!

The top note reminds me of a classic Eau de Cologne with a slight sweetness.

This note is maintained into the heart and then gains a bit more spiciness from the rosemary.

With the base, the fragrance completely changes its appearance. Here it reminds me a lot of the first men's fragrance by Ferré. It is spicy, with a slight bitter undertone.

It's a pity that the fragrance is very quiet from the very beginning and remains so until the end, it practically sneaks through the entire fragrance progression.

Those who like subtle perfumes should definitely give this one a try.

Louder, I can't hear anything!
To be honest, I am slowly becoming a little disappointed with Lostmarch. This was my third test candidate, but the 2ml sample was gone before I could perceive anything distinctive.

Now, you can't go wrong with a top note of bergamot, mandarin, orange, and lemon, but the middle part is really homeopathically dosed, and while the quickly fading dry down becomes pleasantly woody-mossy again, it is just as subtle.

Overall, it gives the impression of a shy little brother of Acqua Di Gio, which is already quite soft. The scent itself is very pleasant, harmonious, and free from intrusive synthetics, but what good is it if you don't notice much of it?

"Atao" means "always" in German, and that is probably also the instruction: Always spray, otherwise you won't smell anything :)

A neroli fragrance that goes from juicy sweetness in the opening to a warmer patch-amber base. Basic but pleasant.

An incredibly soft, creamy-spicy citrus scent. Unique overall composition, which has unfortunately probably been discontinued... :-(

An ethereal essence that unfortunately flies away too quickly, leaving behind a brief, beautiful citrus-soft scent trail...

Citrusy green at first, then a mossy spiciness comes in - I find it well-groomed, classic, and masculine.
