8x4 versus Fa fruit cocktail concoction - bitter Vuitton moment
I really like a whole series of the Vuittons. For example, "Sur la Route" (ingenious), "Imagination" (casually beautiful) or Orage (purist).

My expectations were correspondingly high, as I thought I was going to receive something pleasantly casual and pleasant with that certain French style icing on the cake.

In fact - I am downright repulsed and horrified by "Pacific Chill". Penetratingly exotic and quite sharp in its acidity. The fragrance lacks any elegance or even something like understatement.

The whipping exoticism flows oppressively into the nose, developing 0.0 over hours. As I walked past, my wife commented on the penetrating stuff I had put on it.

And indeed - I have faint memories of certain 8x4 or Fa deodorants from the 90s that had similarly clumsy, tangy exotic fruits stumbled together....

No, that was pretty much nothing - and the price is outrageous to boot.

My favorite for the summer
This fragrance really gives you an immediate feeling of summer and fresh fruit. So many great, warm and beautiful thoughts can be associated with this fragrance. The apricot note really stands out immediately and smells simply delicious and fruity. Gradually, the other components come through and create a great blend.

The orange harmonizes wonderfully with the peppermint and the rest rounds everything off perfectly. A real must for the summer. The shelf life is relatively good, but you can add a little more if you like and you're only doing yourself a favor.

Cheerful Bright Citrus and Fruits
Walked by a Louis Vuitton boutique and decided to pop in and see if Pacific Chill had landed. It had. From my first sniff I loved it. Wasn’t at first sure when I tried it off a card where it was very much like a lime/orange soda, but when I put it on my skin, it clicked. A bright, fresh, fruity citrus, a combination of orange/clementine and citron. But, unlike many other orange freshies, not synthetic nor overly sweet like an orange scented detergent soap. As it dries down fleshier tropical fruits and berries come forward – although not listed as notes, I get the apricot which could be mistaken for mango, but also grapefruit, guava, and a good dose of blackcurrant, which designer Jacques Cavallier says was his intent. This is no doubt from the combined mid notes of apricot and rose and the base notes of fig and dates, but, make no mistake, this is not a fig-forward perfume. Much brighter, fruitier, and fresher but also, unlike many fresh scents, with a backbone. The ambrette adds a musk/ambroxan quality, which is in the DNA of a large number of Cavallier scents. In the dry down, the peppermint and slight herbal notes come through - coriander as well. And compared to other orange/citrus scents, it has very good longevity.

Jacques Cavallier says he was inspired to make this by while having a detox smoothie in LA and he wanted to create a "detoxifying cologne." I'm not sure I entirely get what this supposed to mean, aside from his inclusion of carrot seed, much less if this has a detoxifying impact, but, for me, it certainly has a clean, uplifting quality.

This is a scent to wear in the spring and summer, and I can particularly see wearing it out informally on a warm evening sitting at an outdoor café or a deck somewhere. Although it
would not be out of place at a summer (non-formal) wedding. Bought it straight out after putting it on. Cheerful. Puts a smile on my face.

"Relaxed apricot"
The opening of Pacific Chill is really successful in my opinion! The apricot scent is immediately and clearly recognizable, and initially perfectly paired with a really fresh and exceptionally authentic mint note.

The only problem with the whole thing is that the mint disappears at least as quickly as it arrived. After that, all I can really smell is a very pleasant, authentic but also very linear apricot. Unfortunately! Because this combination with the latent mint note blew me away in a positive sense.

On the one hand, I don't think LV fragrances are bad at all, and I think I understand the concept behind them. On the other hand, it's just not worth the money for me and the fragrances are also a bit too sweet in their DNA for me personally. Like Imagination, Afternoon Swim and Cactus Garden, Pacific Chill is also very fruity and somehow related to the species. The respective colors of the bottles correspond exactly to the contents. Each fragrance has its own note and flair. But they all reflect this "California lifestyle" without being too garish.

Summer, sun, hotel flair, light cuisine, fresh fruit, shakes, nature and biodiversity, excursions, sea breeze, sunscreen, light cheerful thoughts and definitely vacation time!

All fragrances are very "Californian" in my opinion! Just like the price, for anyone who has ever spent time there! Which also reminds me of when I used to buy my beloved "Gatorade" at Wal Mart somewhere in San Diego. The assortment had at least as beautiful colors and flavors as Louis' bottles! Really very timeless and very nice to look at. I would love to take a sip whenever I see them standing there. But please don't take it literally, okay! These bottles would also work well as decorations and, with the right lighting, bring color into the hut. It's just stupid that perfume should be stored in the dark.

Apart from the fact that the Pacific Chill is more for the ladies in my opinion, I really don't think it's bad. It would undoubtedly be very pleasant if my partner wore this fragrance. I didn't find the longevity that bad either, if I look at the other opinions here on Parfumo. The fragrance somehow lingered in my nose throughout the afternoon. But not constantly and only discreetly in the background. It had something. Perhaps comparable to the behavior (not the fragrance itself) of Molecule 01. I liked it and it also made me smile.

But as I said, a little too feminine for my taste. That doesn't mean that men can't wear the fragrance without hesitation! It's just that I personally don't like the scent of apricot. Even though it comes across really well in Pacific Chill. But at the end of the day, it just reminds me of a cheaper product that my mother used to wear in the 90s. The Pacific Chill immediately reminded me of that time again.

If the mint lasted longer and was staged a little better, it would certainly be "halfway" worth the money. Then it would certainly be a strong competitor for the "Join The Club - Torino21 | XerJoff", which also shines with a great mint.

And please note, it's all a matter of taste!

My summer (fragrance)
July 2023,
Summer is in full swing. It's 35 °C outside. I stroll through the pedestrian zone in Vienna. My destination: Louis Vuitton. I had already heard a lot about the "new one" from Louis Vuitton and, of course, I have to try it if I have the chance.
So I enter the elegant store and visit the fragrance department, reach for this beautiful blue-green bottle, spray it on a test strip and am thrilled. "Wow, that's it," I say to my boyfriend. "That's my scent of the summer," I continue.
I spray the fragrance on my forearm and immediately notice a fabulously fruity apricot with a hint of mint. The fragrance is sweet - quite sweet - but still pleasantly fresh and citrusy.
After this inspiring fragrance experience, I decided that I had to have it. So I waited for the saleswoman, drank a glass of water and am now strolling through Vienna with an orange bag. As I take a leisurely stroll through this beautiful city and admire the architecture, I can't stop smelling my arm and realize that I've done everything right.
In the evening, I finally take in the cozy, fruity-sweet base, which remains on my skin for a relatively long time.
Well, the next morning I spray this masterpiece of fruity apricot and blackcurrant, combined with tangy orange and invigorating mint on again and I am still thrilled.
This fragrance is truly my perfect companion for the summer and I am very glad I was not mistaken in my first perception.

Chapeau Louis Vuitton!

Mostly basil + peppermint to me; mid had something a bit too animalic for me, came across a bit like B.O. or else this would be refreshing.

Do you want to smell like a Jamba Juice smoothie? Here you go. Sweet semi-tropical + citrus + carrot + a "power greens" booster added.

One of the worst LV releases. This is a rare L from Jacques Cavallier…smells very, very sweet and unnatural.

Pacific Chill is a very pleasant scent for summer. The freshness of mint and basil with a citric-fruity-sweet lemon-peach-fig-dates combo.
