Cheerful Bright Citrus and Fruits
Walked by a Louis Vuitton boutique and decided to pop in and see if Pacific Chill had landed. It had. From my first sniff I loved it. Wasn’t at first sure when I tried it off a card where it was very much like a lime/orange soda, but when I put it on my skin, it clicked. A bright, fresh, fruity citrus, a combination of orange/clementine and citron. But, unlike many other orange freshies, not synthetic nor overly sweet like an orange scented detergent soap. As it dries down fleshier tropical fruits and berries come forward – although not listed as notes, I get the apricot which could be mistaken for mango, but also grapefruit, guava, and a good dose of blackcurrant, which designer Jacques Cavallier says was his intent. This is no doubt from the combined mid notes of apricot and rose and the base notes of fig and dates, but, make no mistake, this is not a fig-forward perfume. Much brighter, fruitier, and fresher but also, unlike many fresh scents, with a backbone. The ambrette adds a musk/ambroxan quality, which is in the DNA of a large number of Cavallier scents. In the dry down, the peppermint and slight herbal notes come through - coriander as well. And compared to other orange/citrus scents, it has very good longevity.

Jacques Cavallier says he was inspired to make this by while having a detox smoothie in LA and he wanted to create a "detoxifying cologne." I'm not sure I entirely get what this supposed to mean, aside from his inclusion of carrot seed, much less if this has a detoxifying impact, but, for me, it certainly has a clean, uplifting quality.

This is a scent to wear in the spring and summer, and I can particularly see wearing it out informally on a warm evening sitting at an outdoor café or a deck somewhere. Although it
would not be out of place at a summer (non-formal) wedding. Bought it straight out after putting it on. Cheerful. Puts a smile on my face.

Meh. Not for me. But ok.
It's not bad, imagine a candy aroma of fig, with bright fresh citruses a little bit floral and some amber like Jacques Cavallier know how to do, i just find it a bit overwhelming, i will not buy it honestly, but i invite you to try it, a good thing is that the performances are very good, but there's many better fresh LV fragrance, Imagination, Immensité, afternoon swim...

It's not a bad fragrance, just not for me.

Greenly citrus
tested at the Louis Vuitton store in Lyon Bellecour today.

I had heard a lot about this perfume since its release a few weeks ago, so it seemed essential to discover it.

at first a huge disappointment, it just smells of grapefruit like many other much cheaper references in perfumery, such as viktor and rolf lavender illusion or a garden after the monsoon by Hermes.

the difference finally arrives after 5 hours the perfume evolves, towards what looks like tea, something greener. we are of course a summer perfume, fresh and light.

unlike other summer perfumes, it has to be recognized that it has a good hold and a good sillage. I was going to put a very bad note but fortunately the smell has evolved.

What prevents the note from going up is having to wait several hours before having a less banal smell.

a little overated compared to other perfumes. the smell does not justify the price.

Best fresh scent currently
Wore it twice, and got amazing compliments from women. Both went out of their way to say It smelled amazing. This is perfect for a summer night out or a sunset party. This exudes sophistication and gives a youthful modern aura.

I don't think there's much to think about this scent, it's fresh and citrus. Can be cloying if over-sprayed, but its just a clean and nice smelling perfume.

A bowl of tropical fruits
This really just smells like a bowl of tropical fruits, not really distinguishable specifically which fruits, but it's a very sweet and pleasant smell. A lot of the fresh scents from LV smell synthetic, but this is one of the rare ones that does not (along with imagination).

Linear scent throughout, projects very well (6 feet) for 1-2 hours and then it calms down but still projects nearly an arms length for another 1-2 hours.

In total you're going to get around 4 hours of some noticeable projection from this, and then about the same time the projection is gone, it's hardly noticeable on the skin.

Performance wise, this is fairly unique, I'm not sure I've come across something that projects this loudly, for this long and then disappears almost altogether as soon as the strong projection is gone. For that...it's hard to give it a poor performance rating even though the longevity is short.

This is one of the better ones from the LV collection.

Mostly basil + peppermint to me; mid had something a bit too animalic for me, came across a bit like B.O. or else this would be refreshing.

Do you want to smell like a Jamba Juice smoothie? Here you go. Sweet semi-tropical + citrus + carrot + a "power greens" booster added.

One of the worst LV releases. This is a rare L from Jacques Cavallier…smells very, very sweet and unnatural.

Pacific Chill is a very pleasant scent for summer. The freshness of mint and basil with a citric-fruity-sweet lemon-peach-fig-dates combo.
