I drift towards the sun
This fragrance was one of the first I bought when I discovered my passion for the world of fragrances. It was a blind buy to boot.
The presentation of the name Driftwood in combination with this wonderfully coordinated outer packaging made from a piece of real wood (I assume it's driftwood?), which can be separated in the middle and is held together with magnets, immediately appealed to me. (This packaging is only available for the 125ml bottle.)
It's really something, even the lid is made of wood.
The bottle itself is chic, simple and feels high-quality. The spray head is also perfectly fine.
The fragrance starts with a mixture of salt and ginger. I can also smell something similar to lemon peel. This combination immediately puts you in a good mood, and if the weather outside is also suitable, you simply feel great with the fragrance. However, it is much sweeter than I would have expected based on the notes listed here, but that doesn't really bother me. As it progresses, the freshness diminishes a little and it develops in a woody direction with a slight sweetness in its luggage.
There are moments when I would somehow describe it as a gourmand fragrance.
Yes, the ambroxan is also present here, and yes, someone who likes to smell it often and finds it annoying will certainly not be happy with this fragrance. However, I find that the ambroxan note is quite restrained in this fragrance.
The only drawback of this fragrance is the longevity and the sillage, but if you put this in relation to the price and other aquatic fragrances in this price segment, it is manageable, and then one or two sprays won't hurt. However, this is where the fragrance has its clear weakness.
Conclusion: For me, it was an absolutely lucky purchase that gave me a fragrance that I wouldn't want to be without for the summer months. The highlight of the fragrance is of course the outer packaging. But the "Plörre" can also be smelled and can be a great alternative for some people.
I just wonder how the Swiss came up with the idea of creating such a beach fragrance?
