A Sweet Flame
As much as it pains me to admit - if you're looking for the same notes as sitting by the campfire for long periods of time leaves on clothes - then you will not find it here. By the fireplace takes away the smokiness, replacing it with what feels like a mug of hot cocoa in your hand whilst you're sitting on the couch watching a Christmas movie... in October.
The contrast is beautiful, the woody chestnut making way for a vanilla forward scent upon prolonged wear. Whilst the woodiness fades over time, the toasted vanilla stays on the skin for a long time - making it easy to add to your everyday rotation, especially in the late autumn months. It's got a medium sillage, as you'd come to expect from a Maison Margiela perfume.
And yet it's captivating - the more the fragrance bloomed before me, the more I was convinced to try it again. I do not think it's for everyone, and I'd advise you to try it out, but if you're looking for a sweet mixture of wood and vanilla, then this one might just be your new favourite.
