Meow or: The Dream is Over
In summer, I prefer - during the day, in the warmth - refreshing, green-citrus scents, or if it should be unsweetened during the day, musky fragrances also give me a good overall okay feeling, as I have found out. I don't like berry scents when they come across as either too one-dimensional, as I unfortunately felt with Amethyst, or too artificial (although I admit I am certainly capable of "making" some chemicals smell nice or sniffing past them...)
Now, however, I came across this representative through a lucky swap - my heartfelt thanks again ;) - and - lo and behold - something completely unexpected happened with the berries....
Instead of - as expected - fresh, unsweetened, and slightly sour support joining me in the fight against the heat, I smell the finest spicy sandalwood from the very first spray! However, for my nose, it is the finest sandalwood of all! An honestly delicate spicy sandalwood dream! Bergamot? - Not even worth mentioning - and the 5 berries lie delicately beside a large "load" of sandalwood, wonderfully warm-spicy breath... dominates.
Okay - in itself, no big drama, except for the changed wearing time for this scent:
then as - and thus somewhat reserved - spicy evening scent, one would think, it works! Now, however, the cat comes into play......and another new aspect of fragrance experience with this scent!
Full of joy, I recently "presented" this scent to my beloved in the evening, "wow, no, this is really amazing, right darling?!!" But darling makes a face, the mood dampened and his nose crinkled! I had never seen that on him! What now?? "Something smells bad," he says. That seemed to be serious.....! So, what is it?? "Hmm" - he just mumbled....! To point out that special "appearances" can occur, I said, yes, well, I have already tested a scent twice that smelled like sour vomit, is it that?! (Damn, damn, damn!)
"No," he said, "it smells more like our Mohrle from back then peed in the corner!"
Well, folks, I thought hmmm, now I’ll just wear the scent "outdoors"! However, that turns out to be not as easy as I thought....Mohrle stays with me for a long time....!
When I come home - really just a spicy hint seems to envelop me - it doesn't take long and he comes down and - stops! I look innocent, but he asks: "Did you put it on again?" -- So our dog, who can't stand cats, still likes me....but where can I quickly get a cheap summer domicile for both of us??
I don't know if it's the bergamot-sandalwood combo and this, as we know, doesn't let the pig but the cat out, or what other factors are favoring this phenomenon? Or is it musk-sandalwood? No matter - the cat must go, adieu, you clingy creature...! *sniff*
P.S: the flacon - pardon - the bottle is, like all Gantiers, equipped with an exceptionally lavish golden cap, into which a piece of glass with a brilliant cut has been integrated. Although I usually find simple bottles more appealing, this is quite a showstopper for a "summer eau." The longevity is - as mentioned - particularly excellent with the "spicy components"!
