Of course, I couldn't wait long and tried the fragrance right away.
The opening honestly surprised me. The first minutes are juicy, citrusy, peppery, and very refreshing. I especially notice bergamot and sage at the beginning. After a short time, a pleasant sweetness comes in, accompanied by a slightly spicy mandarin. This opening actually reminds me of many classic masculine fragrances.
However, over time, the scent changes significantly. Gradually, a dark, mysterious rose appears. It feels warm, deep, and woody, with a very slightly earthy, almost mushroom-like facet that gives the fragrance something very distinctive.
In the drydown, mainly spicy amber and tonka bean remain. The base is pleasantly warm, slightly sweet, and feels very harmonious.
I would describe the longevity as good. The sillage is absolutely fine. Not overly loud, but definitely present enough to be noticed.
Conclusion: The fragrance conveys more masculine vibes to me. Of course, anyone can wear what they like. Personally, I don't pay attention to whether a fragrance is officially marketed for men, women, or as unisex.
I can't directly compare it to any other fragrance. However, if I had to mention an association, the atmosphere slightly reminds me of Black Orchid Reserve at times. Not as a dupe or copy, but rather in terms of its dark, mysterious character.
It has a bit of Black Orchid Reserve but of course not the oriental side... Wood Season smells very masculine, fresh, woody, and just slightly dark metallic.
That sounds more than good, which pleasantly surprises me.
