Blast from the Past!
I inherited a Mini from "Jalique" that still held up surprisingly well. The top note may be a bit beaten, but after a few seconds a magical green chypre veil covers my skin, which looks a bit out of time, but in the most positive sense. Quality first class.
"Jalique" has fallen somewhat into oblivion, but has many characteristics of a classic. Meanwhile even wearable by men who like Chypres. It is creaky and yet gentle once you have made friends with it. This can take some time and will hardly happen at U30s, but here on Parfumo I think this crisp oldtimer could find some friends and meet tastes. "Jalique" goes in the direction of a "Y" from YSL and that can only be good. Herbaceous, like a sun-drenched forest floor, like the leader of the fairy troop in the magical clearing. Ylang ylang, moss, musk, vetiver. Juicy and fertile, precious and bulky only at first glance.
Flacon: can't dismiss his age... but he doesn't have to!
Sillage: at that time it wasn't stained! < br /> Shelf life: sticks as if it were fresh from production... 8-12 hours.
Conclusion: from a time in which women's fragrances smelled ten times more masculine than the current men's fragrances... "Jalique" is a very smelly Chypre-DeLorean!
