Perfume of Extra Class...Unfortunately Disappeared
...And again I have a mini of a fragrance that has been off the market for years. Once more, it is a representative of the wonderful chypre family.
But the echo of the drop on my wrist lingers long and lives up to its name.
A slightly capricious, fresh opening already hints at the class of the fragrance. Unyielding, somewhat creaky, wonderfully woody-resinous notes push through early on. It isn't until some time later that roses and cloves enter the scene. Warm, spicy, and very unsweet, they blend with the woods. Only a hint of vanilla is subtly detectable in the background. This playful interaction continues for quite a while and is a balm for the nose and soul.
Just when I think the fragrance can't get any better, "Echo" finally reveals another highlight! And this one is packed with shimmering green, soft moss. Tree moss? Oak moss? Who cares - it smells delightfully wonderful. And it lasts a very long time. It has all the advantages of a angular-proud chypre!
