Summer in a bottle

A true revelation in Meo’s creations so far, a turning point. A contrast. Something truly new, grounded in fresh crisp yuzu with a backbone of lavender & the sensitivity of soft neroli that gives a 2 face facet of marine quality. Picture this, sipping on your yuzu beverage while another is being poured in front of you into a glass full of ice while the fizzy bubbles land on your face with the fresh breeze from the sea. This one lifts you up, summer spirit in a bottle. Love it.

Acqua di Yuzu from Italy

In search of a signature scent that not everyone has, I stumbled upon Isola by Meo Fusciuni. The brand may not mean much to most here yet, but I can only recommend it to everyone.
The quality and naturalness of the ingredients are something I have never smelled anywhere else.

About the fragrance:

It opens very citrusy, but in no way like a citrus cleaner. No wonder, with lemon, bergamot, mandarin, yuzu, and blood orange (!!!) there are five citrus ingredients right away. Floral notes follow from the neroli and magnolia, which slowly but very harmoniously join the citrus and give the fragrance a certain lightness. Neroli is a very potent note, but here it is really very subtle and yet perceptible. The lavender adds a minimal soapy quality, the vetiver brings woody notes, patchouli and musk provide a certain sovereignty, the tonka bean beautifully balances the sour note, and the tea brings a certain elevation, balance, and calm. It develops beautifully aquatic, woody, and elegant over time, which vaguely reminds me of Acqua Di Gio Profumo and D&G Light Blue in the drydown. But all of this is in extremely high-quality niche quality.

Longevity and sillage are very good according to the quality.

Unisex. I see it in spring and summer, but also for relaxation in winter in a warm home :D

I find the design wonderfully minimalist. The brown glass protects from light, the magnetic cap is as heavy as the full bottle, and the sprayer is a 10/10.

How gentle should I be...

Nooooo - it's not a mafia scent, to begin with. It's a charmer, a "oh-I've-smelled-something-similar" fragrance - but somehow I find that Isola, amidst the abundance of fresh, limey, citrusy, and orange super-summer scents, is indeed an island. The island of letting go: stretching out all fours.

Isola has a slightly cool Yuzu, a slightly bitter Bergamot at the start, and then this incredible, diffuse scent of fresh laundry that seems to always hang in the windows of its hometown in Sicily. Perhaps it's the good quality of the lavender that gives me this feeling of cleanliness - or is it the white tea?

I've had the scent on my skin for six hours now - a fresh laundry-lemon ice cream vibe. And I'm reading Meo's idea again: "From Japan to Sicily, gentle warmth, wind, light citrus fruits, Yuzu lemonade, day and night." Yes, maybe that's it. A simple fragrance that just wants to be beautifully soft and gentle, contemplative and creamy-elevated? And yes, I'm stretching out all fours.
